Senate President, David Mark reportedly gave outgoing Pres. Jonathan this $200,000 24k solid gold customized watch as a gift. According to Vanguard who reported that they received the image, the gold watch has '750 N (North) 34379″ on it, and also a 'Special Edition 2010' on the top and also bears: “Presented by Senator David Mark GCON,” and to “H.E. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan” etched into the gold as well as the Nigerian emblem over its visible working parts.

The words “President of the Senate” are printed on the glass back cover of the watch above the Nigerian emblem, with the words “Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

Governor of Ekiti state this morning supervised the evacuation of Hausas from their community in Atikankan in Ado Ekiti to Sasa along Ikere road following crisis between Hausas living in Atikankan, and some members of Drivers Union which has led to destruction of properties, especially the burning of the Oja Oba, Ado Ekiti by the Hausas after they were attacked on Wednesday. Vehicles for the relocation were also provided by the government.

A fatal accident happened this afternoon along Badeh Junction on Keffi-Kafanchan road in Abuja. One person was killed and four others are in critical conditions. Men of the Federal Road Safety Corp are on ground to manage the situation.

Prisoners who escaped during Ekiti jail break re-arrested for armed robbery (photos)

 

Two criminals, Banji Adedayo(40) and Tope Daramola (45) who escaped prison during the Ekiti-state jail break in December 2014 have been re-arrested by the Ondo state police command for armed robbery. Parading the men alongside other criminals before newsmen today, the Ondo state police Commissioner, Isaac Eke, said the suspects, after escaping from prison, joined a five man armed robbery gang that have been terrorizing Akure since March this year. They were apprehended after they robbed one Mr. Remidayo Komolafe of his Toyota Sienna Bus with Reg. No. KJA 790 CH, valued at N1.6 million on Ondo Road in Akure. They also forcefully collected five mobile phones from the victim, valued at N200,000 as well as other possessions. “Upon police interrogation [the men] confessed to the crime and other robbery cases, including an Ekiti State bank robbery, and both were inmates who escaped from Ekiti jailbreak,” he said.

Also paraded are criminals who committed other crimes.
