Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has approved the suspension of the following
Commissioners for three months:
Honourable Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs
Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism
Honourable Commissioner for Finance Honourable Commissioner for Sports

The State Head of Service and the Special Adviser to the governor on Lands are also going on suspension.

The Federal Government through the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, on Wednesday signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan and Calabar-Port Harcourt rail lines, respectively with the Managing Director, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC, Jack Li, at Ministry of Transportation headquarters yesterday August 31, 2016.
