Court orders EFCC and Nigeria Army to release former President Jonathan's ADC

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the EFCC and the Nigerian Army to release former President Goodluck Jonathan's Aide-de-Camp, Col. Ojogbane Adegbe on liberal terms. Adegbe had in a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Gudu on February 25th, argued that he has been in EFCC custody since February 11 and has not been charged with any offence.

Justice Yusuf Halilu while delivering judgement on the suit this morning, ordered EFCC to release Adegbe pending his arraignment before a competent court.

The judge held that Adegbe's continued detention is unconstitutional as it violates Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution. The former ADC was invited from the UK where he was by the Nigerian Army to answer some questions relating to the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal.

Please o! let justice prevail.
