Man robbed bank to be in jail than at home with nagging wife
70-year-old Lawrence Ripple is accused of robbing a bank after handing a note to the cashier demanding cash. He told police he did it because he would rather go to prison than to live with his nagging wife.
The alleged robbery took place at the Bank of Labor in Kansas City, Kansas, last Friday and the note he allegedly gave to the cashier read: "I have a gun, give me money". Lol
Police
reports claim the cashier handed over $3,000 (£2,250) but instead of
fleeing the scene, Ripple is alleged to have wandered up to seats in the
bank and sat down. What!
When a bank security guard approached him, Ripple told the guard, “I’m the guy you’re looking for.”
According to reports, when Ripple was quizzed by
investigators, he told them that he and his wife had argued and he
“no longer wanted to be in that situation”.
Ripple
wrote out his demand note in front of his wife … and told her he’d
rather be in jail than at home an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit
filed in support of the robbery charge. The money was returned to
the bank.
