Overflown River Niger destroys properties in Anambra
Communities in Anambra state have been badly affected as the notable River Niger overflowed its banks.
A few months ago, the National
Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, warned against a rise in water level of the River Niger and
advised communities along the river to evacuate immediately to safer
ground as there was a likelihood of the river to overflow its bank any
moment.
This occurrence, however validates NEMA's previous forecast, bringing back to memory the 2012 flooding that wrecked many riverine communities of their properties.
