Esther Ibanga, a Nigerian woman, pastor, and activists who has been
campaigning against Boko Haram sect was awarded Japanese peace prize
worth $170,000 on Tuesday.
According to Niwano Peace Foundation,she has been staging a vocal protest against incessant abductions made by the Boko Haram insurgents.The Buddhist-group backed foundation said it awarded the annual prize to her because of her role in pressuring local and central governments to fight the insurgents.
