DELTA 2015: There Will Be War If I Lose- Great Ogboru

DELTA 2015: The Battle On Who Wins.

ogboru

The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Delta State, in the February election, Chief Great Ogboru, has threatened that Delta State will boil if he loses next month election.

He said this at a mega rally held on Thursday in Ughelli, recalling that in the past, Deltans had lived with rigged elections but that this time, they are prepared to take their destiny in their hands and not hand it over to another person again.

According to him, "we know that God's time is the best. This is the time set by God."
chanting a local song, “If Ogboru no win, yawa go dey, if Ogboru no win, yawa go dey,” meaning there will be trouble if Ogboru does not win.

Ogboru added that Delta state has been turned into a ‘jankara state’ where government can no longer provide basic amenities for the people. He promised to raise the standard of governance in the state such that the timid people without vision would no longer find the chance to govern the state again.

On his vision for Delta State, Ogboru said, “We shall start by restoring your dignity and you will no longer be the thrashing floor. “You will be able to look at them eyeball to eyeball. All Deltans will become winners and will enjoy good schools, good hospitals, better pay. Our roads will be safe again. Our streets and homes will be safe again; criminality of any shape will not be tolerated.”

Ogboru had contested against the incumbent governor several times and had lost. Is he sure to cling on power this time or meet his waterloo as before?

APC Plans To Boycott TV Debate

PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE: APC Shuns TV Debate

APC Presidential candidate

The Campaign Organisation of the All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential candidate, Mohammadu Buhari, made a declaration on Thursday, 29th January, 2015  in a press release of its plan to boycott the Presidential debate.

According to Buhari's Media Campaign Director, Garba Shehu,  the organizers of the said debate were wearing the toga of government control, especially being composed mainly of agencies and allies of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He also said that Buhari will exempt himself from such debates being organised by broadcast stations that have denigrated and maligned his person and that of his family.

The organizers of the debates are the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Africa Independent Television (AIT)

Shehu said “The avalanche of inflammatory statements, misinformation and blatant lies being propagated by some of these media against our Party and candidates, contrary to the Kofi Annan brokered Abuja Peace Accord, and the failure of these aggressors to desist and apologise, have left the APC Campaign with no option than to steer clear of any premeditated smear campaign that could be inimical to our prospective electoral success.”

However, the party said that General Buhari had been preparing for debates and would be willing to participate when the organisations involved are considered to be neutral.

The media is expected to respond appropriately and be non partisan in the discharge of its duties.
