  Wads of twenty pound banknotes

Amancio Ortega, the founder of Spanish shopping chain Zara, is now the world's richest man who has toppled Bill Gates as the world’s richest man for a whole two days.

His fortune shot up to £1.4 billion earlier this week when shares in its parents company rose taking his personal wealth to £67.2 billion against Microsoft founder Gates’ £66.4 billion fortune.
His moment in the sun didn't last long though as within 48 hours Mr Gates was back on top.

The son of a railway worker became the world’s richest man on Wednesday, according to Forbes magazine when shares of his business Inditex went up 2.5%. Last year shares went up 40% as sales soared.
But it's his daughter that is likely to benefit from his huge empire, with 31-year-old Marta expected to take over the running of the international business.
She has not been confirmed as his successor just yet but she has been trained at the chain, even stacking shelves in her younger days.

Ortega, from La Coruna, transformed clothing group Inditex from a tiny family dressmaker into Spain’s biggest company using its “fast fashion” model.
Affordable catwalk imitations can move from drawing-board to stores within two weeks, and poor sellers are removed from the shop floor even quicker.

He started his professional life at 14 as a delivery boy with a shirt maker and within a few years he had set up a work shop making nightgowns, lingerie and babywear.
The first Zara opened in Spain in 1975 and is now a fixture on high streets around the world.

Man robbed bank to be in jail than at home with nagging wife

Man robbed bank to be in jail than at home with nagging wife

Lawrence John Ripple

70-year-old Lawrence Ripple is accused of robbing a bank after handing a note to the cashier demanding cash. He told police he did it because he would rather go to prison than to live with his nagging wife.

The alleged robbery took place at the Bank of Labor in Kansas City, Kansas, last Friday and the note he allegedly gave to the cashier read: "I have a gun, give me money". Lol

Police reports claim the cashier handed over $3,000 (£2,250) but instead of fleeing the scene, Ripple is alleged to have wandered up to seats in the bank and sat down. What!

When a bank security guard approached him, Ripple told the guard, “I’m the guy you’re looking for.”
According to reports, when Ripple was quizzed by investigators, he told them that he and his wife had argued and he “no longer wanted to be in that situation”.

Ripple wrote out his demand note in front of his wife … and told her he’d rather be in jail than at home an FBI agent wrote in the affidavit filed in support of the robbery charge. The money was returned to the bank.

Late Audu Abubakar's son, Mohammed Audu arraigned for armed robbery

Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, yesterday arraigned Mohammed Audu, the first son of the late former governor of the state, Abubakar  Audu, at the Chief Magistrate Court II, Lokoja, for alleged robbery and attempted culpable homicide. He was arrested yesterday alongside 15 other members of his family.

The police also arraigned him for charges which include criminal conspiracy, causing grievous hurt, mischief, armed robbery and attempted culpable homicide, contrary to sections 97(1), 248, 327, 298 and 229 of the Penal Code Law.‎ He was detained on Wednesday September 7 after being quizzed by officials of the Special Anti Robbery Squad at the ‘A’ Division Police Headquarters in Lokoja.

The prosecuting Police Officer, Gabriel Otowu, told the court that the late politician’s son allegedly committed the offences against his uncle, Prince Yahaya Audu, on August 30, in the family house at Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government Area.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) read by the Otowu, Mohammed's uncle alleged that he was in the family compound in Ogbonicha with Ibrahim Imam for the eighth days fidau prayer of late Dauda Audu when the alleged offence took place. He alleged that hoodlum that were heavily armed with guns, cutlasses and axe criminally conspired, invaded his compound and demanded for his properties, saying they wanted anything  “ no matter how small.” The Uncle alleged that the hoodlums thereafter shot sporadically into the air and attacked him with machete as he attempted to give them money. He said they vandalised his Hummer Jeep and escaped into the bush after he pretended to be dead. The Uncle alleged that Mohammed had threatened to deal with him prior to the attack and that he and Imman sustained bullet wounds and were later rushed to the Specialist Hospital Lokoja for treatment.

Counsel to Mohammed, Okechukwu Ayewu, who led seven other lawyers, prayed the court to grant him bail in line with provisions of 36(5) of the constitution and sections 341(2) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC). The Chief Magistrate, Alhassan Husaini, in his ruling said:
“Though I find on the face of the originating process (FIR), a barrage of allegations, it appears that both counsels are on the same page. Accordingly, the accused person herein is admitted to bail in the sum of N100,000 and a surety in like sum as he adjourned the matter to September 29, for further mention".

#EdoDecides: Gov Oshiomhole condemns the postponement of Guber Election

Former NLC President and Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomole, has condemned the decision of INEC to postpone the Saturday September 10 gubernatorial election in the state. The postponement of the election came following an advise from the police and DSS that the state was under some security threats and that it would be unwise to hold an election under such circumstance. The election has been shifted to Wednesday September 28, 2016.

The governor who spoke on Channels TV said:
"I was suprised like everybody. We had our final rally on Tuesday. If I had an idea that the election will be postponed, we would have postponed our rally. The whole idea was to bring our rally to a close so that we would spend the remaining time dealing with the issues of election logistically. My only issue is that for some reason, INEC fixed this election to coincide with WAEC examination".
He also said the two weeks extension is too long and that holding an election two days after the coronation of the Oba of Benin is unwise.

* I heard somebody say that APC plans to rig the election in the state* Let's watch...

Lacey Chabert Nursery Main

Lacey Chabert is a new mom! guess what? She announced on Instagram on Thursday, September 1, of the birth to her first child, daughter named Julia Mimi Bella Nehdar.

Read what she wrote about her:

“And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, ‘Oh, there you are. I’ve been looking for you,'” Chabert wrote of her new arrival.
“#TBT to the best day of my life. One week ago I became a mom to this precious angel. Julia Mimi Bella. Julia, you are my heart’s deepest dream come true. I love you more than I could ever say. Welcome to this big beautiful world sweet girl!”

The Mean Girls alum has been busy prepping for Julia’s arrival. In June, she shared stunning photos of her little girl’s feminine and whimsical nursery, featuring pink, cream and gray hues complete with faux fur, crystal and florals.

In July, Good Carma Studio hosted a baby shower for Chabert at Ocean Prime Beverly Hills. The bash, like Julia’s nursery, was outfitted with lots of pink and cream colors, complete with a dessert spread from Polkatots and stations where guests could write wishes and create scrapbook pages for her daughter.

The actress has also been busy staying on schedule to film projects — including Hallmark’s upcoming holiday film A Wish for Christmas, in which she plays the protagonist Sara.

“Being able to do what I love for a living is a luxury for which I’m very thankful. That being said, being in nearly every shot of a movie, while growing a tiny human, was challenging,” Chabert wrote.
