Rivers state Government asks Rotimi Amaechi to account for N3 trillion

Rivers state Government asks Rotimi Amaechi to account for N3 trillion

Rivers State government has called on the Minister for Transport and former Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi, to account for about N3 trillion he received throughout his eight years tenure as the governor of the State. Speaking to media aides in Port Harcourt yesterday January 28, 2016, the State Commissioner for Information, Tam George said the State was still reeling from “the catastrophic legacy of the former governor” despite receiving over three trillion naira in revenue in 8 years.

“Amaechi left the most abandoned projects in the history of Rivers State since 1997. Thousands of workers were without their salaries for four months and thousands of teachers were not paid for nearly 12 months. We have so many abandoned projects which huge sums have been paid but projects are yet to be completed. We have the Mono-rail project that gulped over N60bn and it was abandoned. We have the Woji road project awarded at N3bn. There was a variation of the project to the upward of N14bn but it was abandoned. We inherited the project and completed it. There are so many of the abandoned projects. We have the Karibi George 250 bed project where huge sums of money were paid but no single block was laid at the site” he said.
The commissioner said the Wike-led government will explore legal means that will help compel those who looted the state treasury to face the law and be punished accordingly.

Kanye West Fires Back at Amber Rose's NSFW Diss

Kanye West Fires Back at Amber Rose's NSFW Diss

Kanye West...!
After deleting his Twitter rant against Wiz Khalifa on Wednesday, Kanye decided that it was now time to defend himself against some NSFW claims made by his ex, Amber Rose.

During Kanye's original (and epic) Twitter tailspin, Amber shared some particularly personal details about the Yeezus rapper's sexual proclivities.

After not responding for over 36 hours, Kanye drew attention to Amber's tweet all over again late Thursday night by assuring his Twitter followers in his own NSFW comeback that he doesn't, in fact, like that particular type of erotic encounter.

"Exes can be mad but just know I never let them play with my ass," Kanye stressed. "I don't do that… I stay away from that area all together."

In case his fans didn't believe him, Kanye made sure to reiterate his position in a second tweet.
"I'm not into that kind of s**t… I like pictures and videos," Kanye shared. "Me and my wife got the kind of love that can turn exes into best friends."

While that might not make any sense, it's clear that Kanye wants to make sure absolutely everyone understands that he doesn't let anyone touch his butt. Ever.

Coach Oliseh Lied, He Didn't Spend His Own $4,000 To Feed Super Eagles Players - NFF

Coach Oliseh Lied, He Didn't Spend His Own $4,000 To Feed Super Eagles Players - NFF

CHAN 2016: Oliseh Lied, He Didn't Spend His Own $4,000 To Feed Super Eagles Players - NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has denied reports that coach Sunday Oliseh spent $4,000 of his personal money, to feed Super Eagles players, during their training in Pretoria, South Africa.
In a related development, the Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh was also issued a query to explain why the team crashed out at the group stage of the African Nations Championship.

He was asked to explain the damning comments he made to the press after the defeat to Guinea
Oliseh had ealier claimed in an interview that lack of motivation was behind their poor performance at the tournament.

But General Secretary of NFF, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, in his reaction said: “It is not true that Oliseh spent his hard earned $4,000 to feed the team in their Pretoria camp before CHAN. We are not aware of that.

“We paid for their camping at the South African High Performance training centre in Pretoria and this also covered lodging and feeding for the two weeks the team spent there. We had no report from the centre of not feeding them properly, so how did he spend his money to feed the team?”

We Lack Capacity To Pay Salaries, Imo Is Broke – Gov Okorocha

We Lack Capacity To Pay Salaries, Imo Is Broke – Gov Okorocha

We Lack Capacity To Pay Salaries, Imo Is Broke – Okorocha

IMO State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday disclosed that the state is insolvent, as its monthly wage bill has outstripped its monthly statutory allocation from the Federal Government. The governor said monthly servicing of the bailout fund has further compounded the situation.

This was just as he reiterated that there was no going back on the state government’s decision to concession the management of parastatals.

Okorocha, who revealed this when he spoke to newsmen at the Government House in Owerri said the monthly wage of the state had always been higher than what the state receives from federal allocations and internally generated revenue.

“The monthly wage bill of the state is N4.2 billion which is far higher than what we receive from federal allocation including the internally generated revenue which means that the state government has always been operating on a deficit. As at December 31, 2015 the state received N1.9 billion from the Federal Government while the monthly wage bill of the state for the same period was N4.2 billion.”

“We cannot continue to patch a cracked wall as if all is well, we need to break it down in order to rebuild it, and the current wage bill of the state is beyond our capacity. Imo State now receives the least allocation among the South-East states because of the monthly repayment of the bailout fund which the state took from the Federal Government, a situation which has further compounded the financial situation of the state.” The governor insisted that in spite of the financial dilemma of the state, no worker is being owed any salary.
