PDP, Jonathan Terribly Afraid Of Outcome Of The Forthcoming Elections – Amaechi

PDP, Jonathan Terribly Afraid Of Outcome Of The Forthcoming Elections – Amaechi

Governor of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi has said that President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP are afraid of the outcome of the forthcoming general elections.

Amaechi who is also the Director-General, All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential Campaign Organisation stated this in Port Harcourt during APC’s zonal campaign rally, according to a statement by Ibim Seminatari, Director of Communications of Rivers State APC Campaign Organisation.
“You know I used to be in PDP. For the first time, I can see real fear in their eyes, even the president is afraid. You can see that everybody is now gentle because the game is up.
“The sad part is that the police are arresting us every day but all these will be over in two weeks. So far, over 30 members of APC have been killed in recent times. No day passes without the killing of one APC member or the other but they will account for all their atrocities in due time.
“They cannot intimidate us forever. Let me tell you that my courage comes from knelling down, praying and asking God for strength. This time in South-South and South-East, we will not write result. We are going to vote and our votes will count and I am proud to be part of APC. You must vote and stay there because members of PDP are magicians,” Seminatari quoted Amaechi as saying.
According to her, the Rivers State Governor also described PDP as an atrocious party with unbelievable record of abuse and intimidation.
He also condemned the attack on his wife Judith by PDP members who waylaid her at Ahoada West during her campaign there.

Drugs Worth N364m Confiscated By NDLEA In Ondo State

Drugs Worth N364m Confiscated By NDLEA In Ondo State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday confiscated 34,030 kilogrammes of Cannabis sativa in a warehouse in Akure, the largest single haul since the establishment of the agency’s Command in Ondo State.

In a statement on Friday, the NDLEA said it acted on a tip-off on suspicious activities at the Shagari Housing Estate in the state capital.

“The total weight of the seized drug is 34,030kg with an estimated street value of 364 million naira,” the agency said in a statement.

Ibrahim Abdul, NDLEA Ondo State commander, described the seizure as “massive”.
“We began evacuation of the drugs since 4 a.m. with twelve vehicles and the operation lasted over twelve hours. As we speak, three sensitive operations involving the destruction of cannabis plantation are going on simultaneously.”

The two suspects arrested in connection to the drugs – Collins Nmor, 35,  and Godday Chibuzor, 27 – are currently assisting NDLEA investigators with “useful information,” the agency said.
Ahmadu Giade, NDLEA’s Chairman, said the discovery of the illicit drugs in a residential area “is laudable.”

“I commend the officers for this landmark achievement in the agency’s supply control efforts,” Mr. Giade said.
“We shall continue to provide logistic support to officers in eradicating illicit drugs from our society. Let me assure you that no drug baron shall go unpunished and the building used for the storage shall also be forfeited to the federal government.”

The NDLEA boss who called on members of the public to report suspicious drug activities to the agency also directed that discreet investigation be conducted with a view to bringing more members of the drug cell to book.\

In 2014, the NDLEA destroyed an unprecedented 4,529.15 hectares of cannabis farm land containing 53,719,342.32kg of cannabis plant in the country.
In the same year, it also seized 158,852kg of cannabis sativa from drug traffickers.

Jonathan Denies Tinubu’s Cliam Of Interim Government VP Offer

Jonathan Denies Tinubu’s Cliam Of Interim Government VP Offer

abati

President Goodluck Jonathan has denied claims by the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, that he offered the former Lagos State governor the opportunity to serve as Vice President in a proposed Interim National Government.

Addressing reporters in Abuja on Friday, the president’s spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati described Tinubu’s claim as ‘absurd and ridiculous’.

Dr. Abati insisted that the position of President Jonathan had remained that the idea of an Interim National Government is treasonable.
He said the President had made it clear that he had neither proposed the idea at any forum nor discussed it with anybody.

The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said on Thursday that the recent attacks on his person were because he rejected the offer by President Jonathan to serve as the Vice President in an Interim National Government.

In a statement by his media office, Tinubu said having refused the offer, Jonathan was looking for ways to take him out either by killing him or getting him arrested based on trumped-up charges.
The former governor of Lagos State said the Peoples Democratic Party had never been this rattled in its 16 years in power.

He said Jonathan blamed him for the successful merger of the APC and the momentum, the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) was gaining.

Gov. Fashola blames yesterday's Lekki robbery on President Jonathan's visit

Lagos state Governor Babatunde Fashola says President Jonathan's visit to the state yesterday was the reason why the robbery attack in Lekki Phase 1 was successful. According to him, all the vehicles the state government bought to patrol the state was stationed to protect the President. He said this during the Buhari meet the Entertainers Programme in Lagos yesterday March 12th.

"Today is a very sad day because this afternoon we lost three policemen to the robbery in Lekki and it was the first of its kind in a long time. And I also know that perhaps what will be would have been but it was sad to see all our security vehicles deployed to protect one man.

All the vehicles we bought for the police were stationed to receive the President in Lagos while the citizens were left vulnerable. Those policemen have children. Their mothers will be have to explain to them why daddy is not coming home. May their souls rest in peace" he said.

'I’ve buried too many commissioners' – Governor Suswam

The Governor of Benue state, Gabriel Suswam, says he feels bad that he has buried quite a few Commissioners in his cabinet since the inception of his administration. Gov Suswam expressed his sadness today March 13th during the funeral of the Commissioner of Rural Development and Cooperative, Aondowase Chia who died last Thursday March 5th.
“I’ve buried too many commissioners; I am very uncomfortable and I completely align myself with what His Royal Majesty earlier said that we must all go back to God.
Most people believe that they will hire political thugs to kill; unfortunately, they forget the fact that life is full of emptiness. God alone determines the destiny of every man,” he said Mr Atorto Girgi, who served as the minister of Rural Development and Cooperative died in active service three years ago, giving way to Mr Chia who died last week.

Televangelist Creflo Dollar needs 200,000 people to donate $300 each so he can buy $65m Ministry plane

Please take your time and read this. Popular televangelist and founder of World Changers Church International, Creflo Dollar, 53, is hoping to get 200,000 people to donate $300 so he can buy a brand new luxurious $65 million Gulfstream G650 airplane for his ministry, which last year had billionaires reportedly waiting in line to get one. The saddest part is, some people will actually donate

Below is the Church appeal posted on his website...
"The mission of Project G650 is to acquire a Gulfstream G650 airplane so that Pastors Creflo and Taffi and World Changers Church International can continue to blanket the globe with the Gospel of grace. We are believing for 200,000 people to give contributions of 300 US dollars (over #50k or more to turn this dream into a reality — and allow us to retire the aircraft that served us well for many years."

The appeal went on to say they want a new private jet because the current one they are using, which was built in 1984 and purchased by his ministry in 1999, recently had engine failure and that if not for their skillful pilot, the plane would have crashed.
Dollar insists that he needs one of the most luxurious private jets made today in order to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to his admin
"we believe it is time to replace this aircraft so that our Pastors and staff can continue to safely and swiftly share the Good News of the Gospel worldwide. We need your help to continue reaching a lost and dying world for the Lord Jesus Christ,"the appeal continued before asking supporters of the ministry to sow a $300 seed into the airplane fund, billed Project G650.
People in the name of being blessed will go all out for this. What's your take?

Blessing Okagbare slams Jonathan’s campaign group for using her image in political ad

Blessing Okagbare slams Jonathan’s campaign group for using her image in political ad

Track & field queen, Blessing Okagbare is not happy over the use of her image and footage by a body said to be working for President Jonathan. The advertorial by GoodHouse Nigeria has been running on various electronic media in Nigeria and also on Youtube and the athlete is infuriated over the use of her image, especially because they didn't even ask her permission to use the image or footage.

According to Punch, Blessing Okagbare said in a statement sent by her agent that;
“Now, I am here struggling on my own to pay my coach, nutritionist, doctor and others to make sure I am in good shape for the All African Games and the IAAF World Championship in Beijing, China later in the year, and some people back home are using my image and footage for presidential campaign ad without seeking for my approval.
This is fraudulent because I am totally not in support of it. We called the people (GoodHouse Nigeria) and they denied using my image and footage for PDP presidential advertorial. Who did it then? Why are they lying?”
Blessing also told Punch's correspondent that she was condemning the act not for financial gain or support, but because of two reasons. First, 'It is about me and what I represent,' she said and also because those involved were not doing the right thing for sports to grow in Nigeria.

GEJ Orders Full Investigation Into Cause of Diplomatic Row With Morocco

GEJ Orders Full Investigation Into Cause of Diplomatic Row With Morocco

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is shocked, surprised and highly embarrassed by the controversy that has erupted over whether or not he had a telephone conversation with His Majesty, King Mohammed VI of Morocco. The regrettable furore that has developed over the matter is due entirely to misinformation as President Jonathan has neither spoken with King Mohammed or told anybody that he had a telephone conversation with the Moroccan Monarch.
It is true that President Jonathan has been speaking with some African leaders to seek their support for Nigeria’s candidate for the position of President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
In continuation of his efforts in support of the candidacy of the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina for headship of the AfDB, President Jonathan indicated that he would like to speak with the King of Morocco, the President of Algeria and the President of Egypt. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was consequently directed to make necessary contacts with the embassies of the three countries and arrange for President Jonathan to speak with their leaders.
Since that directive was given, President Jonathan has spoken with the Prime Minister of Algeria and subsequently sent Vice President Namadi Sambo to Algiers as Special Envoy to follow-up on his discussions with the Algerian Prime Minister on support for Nigeria’s candidate in the coming elections for the AfDB Presidency.
The President has, however, not yet spoken with King Mohammed VI and President Al-Sisi of Egypt as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must know. President Jonathan has therefore ordered the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali to urgently undertake a full investigation of the claim which emanated from the Ministry that the President spoke with King Mohammed VI.
The investigation is to identify all those who were responsible for the unacceptable act of official misinformation which has resulted in an unnecessary diplomatic row with another country and national embarrassment. It is also expected to unveil the motives of the culprits. President Jonathan has also ordered that prompt and commensurate disciplinary action be taken against the culpable person or persons.
While awaiting the outcome of the investigations, President Jonathan urges Nigerians to disregard the vituperations of opposition elements, who have, true to type, latched on to the regrettable faux pas as a fresh opportunity to unpatriotically denigrate the government of their country and advance their irresponsible quest for victory at any price in the coming elections.

I cannot ask my people to vote for you - Awujale tells GEJ

I cannot ask my people to vote for you - Awujale tells GEJ

The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona was quoted to have told the President that he cannot ask his subjects to vote for him. He made this known yesterday, 12th March, 2015 while receiving President Jonathan in his palace.
"In Ijebu here, it is not possible for any Oba, not even in Yorubaland, to go out and say vote for this, vote for that, that person is looking for trouble. The only thing the Oba can do is to give them the opportunity to present their programme so that people can make up their minds on what to do. I think this is a very sound democratic principle and that is what I have decided to do, to give you the opportunity of meeting with the people.
One, they see you as a person, how beautiful you are, whether to engage with you or not, to listen to you and see if there are areas where we can meet, as a result, everybody congregating here, they belong to different groups, they are PDP members, APC members, APGA members. They belong to various interests, and when they come, they get to the gate, they shed their toga. PDP will remove their PDP, APC will remove their own, APGA will remove their own, they are going to the palace, to meet their ruler, their paramount ruler, to receive that important august visitor who is coming to their lands and give him all honour that is entitle to him.
“In all our churches, after prayer, they will pray for you, pray for the Governor, pray for me and all their leaders both in the mosque and churches as it is so required both in the bible and also in the Qur’an, therefore, I thank you Your Excellency for having this opportunity to address our people to listen to you, to hear your programme, what you have in stock for them and we shall all then pray to God for guidance, because the Muslims would say ‘guide us to the right path’, and God will show us the way because He is the only one that can show the way to people. Therefore, I thank you, Your Excellency most sincerely for making this trip. God knows the best, He is the ruler of the Universe. He knows everything and He can do everything, everything is possible in the presence of God, that is why I occasionally go to church to put up a songs.
“Each time I have cause, occasionally to talk to our people, I have always told them, in the churches and mosques that when you’re going to vote, make sure, you back your sons and daughter who will give something back to you, not the ‘Ojelus’, those who will be honest with you, who knows the way of God, those are the people you should vote for, not those who will give you two three spoons and mortgage your future, it is not right. I am sure over the years, there has been improvement but this election is full of tension, I don’t know how it is so, why has elections never been like this, about 55 years, I have never seen any election that is full of tension and the one we are having now, my prayer if God should guide us and make sure that there’s peace, harmony and tranquility in the country.” - the Awujale is quoted to have said by Sahara Reporters

President Jonathan Fulfills Promise To Bereaved Families of NIS Recruitment Exercise

President Jonathan Fulfills Promise To Bereaved Families of NIS Recruitment Exercise

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Friday in Abuja presented letters of employment into the Nigerian Immigration Service to members of the 15 families who lost sons and daughters during the Service’s recruitment exercise last year.
At a brief ceremony in the Presidential Villa, President Jonathan gave letters of employment to 33 members of the bereaved families. Employment had been offered to three members of each bereaved family, but some of the bereaved families are yet to present qualified members to take up the offer.
In his remarks at the occasion, the President said that he was deeply saddened by the death of their relatives in circumstances that were completely avoidable and unwarranted.

President Jonathan said that the Federal Government was fully committed to ensuring high standards for recruitment processes into the public service, and the provision of safety measures to avoid the recurrence of the March 15, 2014 incident which claimed many lives.

“Today is a sad day for all of us. First, let me convey our deepest condolences to the families who lost very young people during the recruitment exercise into the Nigeria Immigration Service. “It is quite regrettable and we promise that such a thing will never happen again,” President Jonathan said.

President Jonathan apologized for the delay in fulfilling the promise of employment to members of the bereaved families, explaining that employment into the public service must go through some processes.

Cheques for an undisclosed amount were also given to each of the bereaved families at the occasion. “The cheque is not for compensation. You cannot replace somebody with any amount of money,” the President said.

Speaking on behalf of the bereaved families, Yunusa Imam thanked President Jonathan for the cheques and letters of employment. “We thank you, Mr. President for the promises that you have kept. We are profoundly grateful,’’ Imam, a guardian of one of the victims, said.

World's First Successful Penis Transplant

world's first successful penis transplant

A 21-year-old man has undergone the world's first successful penis transplant. The 'ground-breaking' operation took South African surgeons nine hours to perform, and allowed the patient to urinate normally and become sexually active again.

Three years ago the man, who remains unidentified, was forced to have his penis amputated after a botched circumcision. The operation was carried out by surgeons from Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, using a penis donated from a deceased person.

They said the procedure allowed the man to regain all function in the newly transplanted organ. Nine more patients will now receive penile transplants.
Professor André van der Merwe, head of the University's Division of Urology, said they were surprised by the patient's rapid recovery.

He said: 'Our goal was that he would be fully functional at two years and we are very surprised by his rapid recovery.

Professor Frank Graewe, another of the hospital's surgeons who assisted on the operation, said: 'It's a massive breakthrough. We've proved that it can be done – we can give someone an organ that is just as good as the one that he had.'

'It was a privilege to be part of this first successful penis transplant in the world.'
Professor van der Merwe said having a penis amputated is known to have a seriously adverse psychological effect on men.

'This is a very serious situation,' he said.
'For a young man of 18 or 19 years the loss of his penis can be deeply traumatic.
