Popular Yoruba Nollywood actress Lola Alao has confirmed her conversion to Islam. She made an announcement via her IG page after the news broke. Here is what she wrote: 
"Salaam alykun to all my wonderful friends and fans, May almighty Allah grant u all your heart desires. i just want everyone to know that i was born in to a Muslim home my late father's name is Lasisi Alao, so i reverted back to my root through Alhaji Yusuf Adepoju (Acadip). May almighty Allah bless him and all my wonderful friends and fans.... Thanks love you all.. Rohdiat Omolola Alao Ajibola."

Yesterday, July 21, some soldiers got missing after they walked into an ambush by Boko Haram members in Borno state. A statement by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, says the soldiers had earlier in the day finished clearing Boko Haram camps at Guro Gongon village and environs. As they were returning to their base, they ran into an ambush by a group of Boko Haram terrorists. 19 soldiers and 3 civilian JTF members were injured in the action.

A few of the soldiers were missing after the ambush. The injured soldiers have been evacuated and are responding to treatment while a search and rescue party comprising of Special Forces personnel has since been dispatched to establish contact with the missing soldiers.

The statement however adds that some of the missing solders have started returning to their defensive location. The Army says no stone would be left unturned until every person involved in the operation has been accounted for.

President Buhari has finally confirmed that the Federal Government is in talks with Niger Delta Avengers in order to end the incessant attacks on the country's oil installations which is affecting oil production.
Speaking at a farewell audience with Mr. Michael Zinner, the outgoing Ambassador of Germany to Nigeria, at the State House, Abuja, on Thursday, the president said that his administration was talking to Niger Delta militants through oil companies and law-enforcement agencies.
Official Spokesperson to President Buhari, Shehu Garba, in a series of Tweets shared the details of the conversation.
