According to the Daily Sun,
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Caretaker Committee and other Igbo leaders yesterday met with the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, over the controversial warning to Igbo.

Oba Akiolu had threatened Igbo to either vote for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode or die in the lagoon

The team was made up of Chief Ralph Obioha, chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, who was leader of delegation; Chief Onwuka Ukwa (Ebonyi State); Chief Haruna Ajah (Ebonyi State); Chief Ignatius Okamene (Imo State) and Chief Mrs. Pat Udoye (Ebugu State).

Sources revealed that at the meeting, Obioha had asked Oba Akilu if there was any rift between the Igbo and the palace to warrant his comments, to which the monarch said it was only politics, adding that by Saturday, after the governorship election, it would be over.

The Lagos monarch told the delegation that people were just making a mountain out of a molehill..
Oba Akiolu, however, urged all to respect the fact that Ambode was like his son and he was not hiding hissupport for him. “They should respect my feelings,” he pleaded.
Daily Sun gathered that Oba Akiolu had broken his siesta, for the first time, to receive the Ohanaeze delegation, as a mark of respect for the Igbo.

He told the Obioha-led team that he had been associating with Igbo for long, revealing that Igbo traders were using most of his shops in Isale Eko.

Oba Akiolu recalled his long friendship with Chief Obioha, right from his police days.

Responding, Obioha, on behalf of the delegation, told Oba Akiolu that Igbo would not bear grudge or animosity against him or the people of Lagos.

The meeting lasted for 40 minutes and ended amicably

Breaking New: Boko Haram Hits Borno Again, Kill 20

Breaking New: Boko Haram Hits Borno Again, Kill 20

Survivors told Premium Times that the insurgents on Thursday stormed a remote village, Dile near Askira Uba, at about 2.00a.m.

Members of the notorious terrorists group, Boko Haram have reportedly killed 20 people in a fresh attack launched in Borno State.

The survivors said the insurgents whom stormed the village in several vehicles, started burning houses and killing anybody on sight.

A resident, who gave his name as Ibrahim Usman, said he managed to flee to Mubi, adding that 20 people were feared dead in the village, while several others were left with scores of injuries during the attack.
“Dozens of Boko Haram fighters attacked our village ‎at about 2 a.m. and killed 20 people,” Mr. usman said. “Many of us fled to the bush to avoid being killed. Everybody was running for his life. We don’t know the whereabouts of our family members,” he said.

Usman urged the military authorities to deploy troops to the area to ‎curb the menace of the terrorists.
Gambo Abakura, another fleeing resident, said: “they just started burning houses and shooting at sight. Most of the insurgents had turbaned their heads; others in quasi-military uniform, chanting Allahu Akbar, meaning Allah is Great.”
Efforts to speak with military authorities in Yola on the alleged attack proved abortive.
A local vigilante in Askira, Mallam Baba, confirmed the attack saying: “yes, there was an attack because many residents had fled to Mubi and they told us the insurgents have several camps in the bush around the area from where they wreak havoc on villages.”
It is however, surprising to still hear news of Boko Harm attacks and killings after the Nigerian army currently on the offensive against the sect had promised that the final onslaught was underway.

AGN president, Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka, who believed and campaigned tirelessly for GEJ says Nigeria has lost 'the one who was brought to us to get a solid foundation for greatness.
“He is a very good man. Nigeria has just lost the one who was brought to us to set a solid foundation for greatness. The reactionary forces overwhelmed him especially from within. My friend and brother 'GEJ’ is a good man. It is well with him.
We fought a good fight. Thanks to all of you who believed in him. It was not a wasted confidence. He has more to give to the world. Once again I say thank you. Congratulations Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and the APC. Nigeria belongs to us all. Let us love her.” she said
