This is funny! A bride to-be refused to walk down the aisle until her future hubby coughed out the cash for a boob job.

The 29-year-old bride Meryl Clarke developed a thyroid condition that saw her losing seven stone in just six months, she was left with saggy skin which she feared would ruin her big day because her breasts looked like a flabby potato sack. So when the 29-year-old had her boyfriend Luke Clarke pop the question on New Year's Eve in 2013, she was torn.

On one hand, she could not wait to marry the man of her dreams - but on the other, she knew her body, which dropped from 20 stone to 13, would bother her.

Meryl, from Leicester, said: "When Luke proposed I was happy but I imagined I'd be walking down the aisle smiling on the outside but not on the inside.

"Even just wearing normal clothes I had to put socks in my bra and pull my tights up to my armpits and I couldn't do that in a wedding dress.

"I was left with flabs of skin hanging from my tummy, arms and legs and my boobs were like empty flaps of skin, they were awful.

"I spent many days crying myself to sleep because my body was literally eating itself.

"I had the body of an old woman, my boobs were like empty flaps of skin, I looked 80 from the neck down.

"I had no breast tissue and this large apron of skin, if I ran it would make a clapping sound.

Meryl planned to raise the money to pay for the operation herself but as an early wedding present for his new bride-to-be, Luke agreed to stump up the cash for a tummy tuck and surgery to take her AA boobs to a DD.

Delighted with her new dream body, Meryl finally walked down the aisle and married Luke at a ceremony in Rothley Court, Leicester, last month.

Some hoodlums, suspected to be working for a political party in Lagos State, have killed five people in the Ajah area of the state.The victims were coming from a naming ceremony when the men attacked them and opened fire on their bus.

The killer gang was also said to have entered the vehicle and used cutlasses and knives to slit the throats of some of the occupants.

The deceased were identified as Ganiyu Lawal, aka Ebe; Idris Kolapo; Samsudeen Osoja, aka Songa; Rafiu, aka Ralph; and Ladi.

A source said Songa’s head was cut off during the attack on Wednesday.

PUNCH Metro learnt that five others, who sustained injuries during the onslaught, escaped by a whisker.The matter was reported at the Ajiwe police station.

Death Toll from Yola bomb blast now 31, survivors need blood donation

The death toll from the bomb blast that occurred at Jimeta main market in Yola Adamawa state yesterday night has risen to 31. Mohammed Dodo, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Medical Center where most of the victims were taken to, said 22 persons are now in critical condition.

The hospital management are calling for blood donations from members of the public.

Imagine! Police called after Chris Brown & Karrueche have had a confrontation

Chris Brown's obsession with Karrueche will probably land him in hot soup. According to reports, Karreuche and her friend Christina Milian, were out at a club in LA and Chris Brown showed up at the club and sat right next to Karrueche's table which he'd booked, knowing where the girls will be sitting. This didn't go down well with Kae and as she left, drama ensued.

An attempted reunion with Karrueche Tran last night did not end well -- with the singer banging on KT's front door after she kicked him out of her SUV. We're told the drama started inside Playhouse nightclub ... when Chris got the V.I.P. table next to the one Karrueche was at. It seemed she was there because her BFF Christina Milian was the host for the night ... something Chris clearly knew. We're told KT was pissed and left the club ... and Brown followed ... eventually weaseling his way into her SUV.

Apparently Chris performed a magic show inside -- because he and Karrueche left together in the same SUV, leaving the Lambo behind. But pay close attention to the end of the video. One of KT's friends asks Chris to stay out of their SUV, but he tells her ... "Move to the back" ... and hops in anyway.

A second angle shows that Chris ended up squeezing on to the same seat as Karrueche.
So, the question is -- did she WANT him to get in, and if NOT ... why didn't SHE get out? You'll recall ... Karrueche said she was done with Chris for good when baby Royalty hit the scene.

Our sources connected to Karrueche say KT did NOT want him inside -- and dropped him off with his friends a short time later. Which is why she was even more upset when he showed up on her doorstep around 3:30 AM -- banging and yelling, clearly trying to get KT to open up.

Tran ultimately left her home -- and went to the famous Norm's Diner. Brown showed up a short time later. Once inside, we're told they began to argue and it escalated into a full-blown shouting match. Eventually, Karrueche left the restaurant and returned home -- without Chris.
Bottom line -- don't expect a reconciliation any time soon.

Update
A police car pulled up outside Karrueche's house early this morning while Chris was there. Law enforcement sources tell us someone called cops to complain about the noise Chris and co. were making at her door.

We're told officers spoke to Chris and Karrueche, but there was no evidence of a crime ... so no tickets, no arrests.

Governor Wike appoints ex-president Jonathan’s minister as SSG

Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has appointed the immediate past Minister of State for Trade and Investment under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Kenneth Kobani, as Secretary to the Rivers State Government. He made the appointment today June 5th. He also appointed Emeka Woke as his Chief of Staff.

'Ogogoro' Has Been Banned In Rivers State

Rivers State government has banned the consumption of local gin popularly called Ogogoro, following the death of about 32 persons, 15 from Bonny Island and Woji in Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas, and the reported death of another 11 persons in Gokana Local Government Area, which included seven male and four females.

The ban by government was due to the increasing death toll from consumption of the alcoholic liquor and dog meat delicacy alleged to contain poisonous ethanol, which now stand at 32.
Vanguard reports that ,Rivers State Director of Disease control, Dr. Roland Obed Whyte,expressed concern over difficulty in getting samples of the particular gin popularly called Ogogoro or Kai-kai for thorough clinical analysis.

Why he explained that irate youths of Woji had set ablaze the shop of Friday Dickson, (aka Etiaba) where the suspected toxic gin was bought and consumed, erasing any samples of the gin, while the latter was currently in police custody.

He said preliminary findings revealed that some of symptoms found in the affected victims, includes vomiting and blindness.

In Bonny Island, a youth leader and spokesman for Bonny kingdom, Sunday Wilcox, confirmed on Thursday that the death of 17 persons after the consumption of the toxic local brew popularly kai-kai imported into the Island. “

“As I speak with you, 17 persons have been confirmed dead. We are going to the hospital to attend to those who are critically lying ill. We need the help of World Health Organisation, WHO, Federal and government agencies to assist people of Bonny kingdom,” he said.

Five Arraigned In Kenyan Court Over Garissa Massacre

Five men have been charged in a Kenyan court with 162 counts of terrorism following the deadly assault by militants on Garissa University College in April.

The four Kenyans and one Tanzanian conspired to commit “a terrorist act” at the university, the charge sheet alleges. The men denied the charges.
They are the first people to be charged in connection with the
massacre, the BBC reports.

Al-Shabab said it carried out the attack, which killed 148 people.
The group which has its headquarter in Somalia, has increased actively in Kenya in recent years.

The Garissa attack was the deadliest carried out by al-Shabab, which is affiliated to al-Qaeda.
Most of those who died in the raid were students and the attackers singled out Christians to be killed, while sparing Muslims.

The names of the 148 killed were all read out in a court in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, the AFP news agency reports.
Judge Daniel Ogembo remanded the accused in custody until June 11 when the court will rule on their bail application.

The Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has formally directed that the appellations; His Excellency and Executive , be dropped in all official and informal communication with him. He would rather prefer to be addressed simply as Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State. The Governor wants all public communication to be concentrated on the work and policies of the state and not on the person of the Governor and has therefore directed all contractors, political groups, individuals and party loyalists not to put his portrait on billboards, posters and signages but to only use the pictures of ongoing projects in their billboards and posters.

The Governor has also directed the general public to remove all congratulatory posters and election billboards littering the environment as these public posters are defacing the environment of the state. He has further charged the people of the State to be partners with Government in ensuring a healthy and beautiful environment. He is also, by this directive, re-assuring the good people of Abia State of his mission of service to the people and therefore urged the citizenry to key into the new vision.

LWKM! UNN student who trekked in honour of Enugu governor turned back at Enugu govt house

A final year student of the University of Nigeria Nsukka who trekked from Nsukka town to the Enugu state government house to felicitate with the newly sworn in governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as the first Nsukka man to be elected governor of the state, was sadly turned back from the gate of the government house by security men.

Stanley who left Nsukka town at about 7am on June 1st and got to the state government house by 5 pm, was told by the security men that the governor and his deputy were not on sit and so can't come inside. An undeterred Stanley who was received at the gate of the government house by friends and well wishers, said he took to trekking to celebrate the governor since he had no money to organize any show for him.

The Kardashian and Jenner children have all been supportive of their Dad's transition into a woman. However, sources close to the family revealed that all Caitlyn's children are still coming to terms with their parent's decision to make a full gender transition.

The source said Caitlyn is trying to make things as easy as possible for the children including Kendall and Kylie as well as the Kardashians Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Robert and older Jenner children Cassandra, Burt, Brandon and Brody.

'Caitlyn spoke to each of the kids separately and told them to take their time in getting used to this.

'She would prefer not to be called ''Bruce,'' but told the kids that they could still call her ''Dad,'' at least for now.

Mother accused of killing her kids and freezing their bodies confesses in Court

A Detroit mother accused of killing two of her children and storing their bodies in a freezer yelled during separate court outbursts Thursday that she killed them.

Mitchelle Blair was temporarily removed during the custody trial to settle her parental rights to her surviving 8-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter.

She was arrested March 24 after court deputies carrying out an eviction at her apartment found the bodies of Stoni Blair, 13, and Stephen Berry, 9, in a deep freezer. Police believe they died months apart in 2012 and 2013.

Blair is charged with murder, torture and child abuse. She is to undergo a mental competency exam before a June 19 probable cause hearing in the murder cases.

As a videotape was played Thursday in court showing Blair's surviving son telling a social worker that he saw his brother get killed by their mother, Blair yelled that he "didn't see me kill Stephen, 'cause it was unintentional."

On another occasion Blair yelled: "Everybody wants to know. Yes, I did kill her," referencing Stoni.

Blair's surviving son also said in the interview with the social worker that he was whipped with a cord and that his 17-year-old sister was hit with a hammer. Both surviving siblings have been placed in a relative's care.

Thursday's trial in Wayne County Circuit Court will determine if Blair loses custody of the two children.

The state also wants to end the parental rights of their fathers.

The state says the fathers rarely see the kids and owe thousands of dollars in child support.
