With concern that Damaturu residents may not be obeying the restriction of movement placed on the city as peace gradually returns in the state, the military has issued a fresh warning for those  flaunting the orders.

The fresh warning which was contained in a press release signed by Col. Texas Chukwu for General Officer Command 3 Armored Division Nigerian Army(Tactical), Damaturu, reminded residents of Damaturu that the curfew time is still in force from 10pm to 6am.

“In the cause of the fight against the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) here in Damaturu, Yobe State, it has become necessary for the military and the state government to warn on the movement of citizens for a certain period for the benefit of all. It is worthy to remind the good citizens of Yobe State that the curfew period still remains from 10pm to 6am…,” the statement said.

The statement also gave some security tips to residents on the fight against the insurgents like; watching out for strange faces in their vicinity, avoiding crowded places such as recreational centres, motor parks, and football viewing centres; market places and unusual gatherings at different places in the town.

The statement equally solicited the “support and cooperation of the citizens with security agencies by   providing them with useful information concerning the insurgents to enhance their job, while pledging the confidentiality of the informant.”

It noted that the curfew was not meant to inconvenience the people of the state but for the safety of all, including those in  all the local government areas in the state.

You Are Still A Dictator -- PDP tells Buhari

You Are Still A Dictator -- PDP tells Buhari

PDP has accused President Buhari of being the dictator he was alleged to have been while he was Nigeria's head of state in 1984. At a press conference in Abuja today October 18th, the national publicity secretary of PDP, Olisa Metuh said the anti-corruption crusade by president Buhari and the APC has shown that it was an orchestrated plan targeted at PDP and its former governors.
He said while PDP governors were being arrested and questioned by EFCC, Former APC governors who have been accused of corruption are being nominated as Ministers. What he said after the cut...

"It is clearly manifest that the same dictatorial tendencies manifested during the military regime of 1984 is being presently applied in the polity in the attempt to discredit PDP members and weaken our great party ahead of 2019. The APC and its government have been busy denigrating the PDP and trying to appropriate our achievements, while at the same time blackmailing, hounding and harassing our elected members with the aim to cow and force them to leave the PDP and join their party. We have verifiable reports from our key members that agents of the APC have been approaching them to join the APC with threats to use the EFCC to victimize them should they refuse. The APC and its agents have been boasting that they have the powers to deal with or spare any person, depending on the party such person belongs to. This clearly explains why the so-called fight against corruption has been selective and focused against PDP members, despite counsels by stakeholders that it should be holistic and in accordance with the due process of the law. The best example of the curious nature of the war against corruption is the fact that former PDP governors and ministers are being hounded and arrested over apparently orchestrated petitions, while their APC counterparts, who have more damaging petitions are being nominated for ministerial positions. Even other APC former governors who have on-going corruption cases in court are being rewarded with APC tickets for the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa" he said

Gentlemen of the press, we have called you up this afternoon to, through you, expose the hypocrisy, double standard and dictatorial proclivities of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC Government in its orchestrated anti-corruption fight in Nigeria.

Whereas the PDP has over time restated its support for a credible, holistic fight against corruption, unfolding events have confirmed our position that this administration is only using the anti-corruption posture as a tool to witch-hunt PDP members and perceived political opponents of APC government.

We are aware that having realized that Nigerians have seen through their propaganda, deceit and lies, as well as their ineptitude in handling governance, the APC government is now mortally afraid of the on-going rebuilding in the PDP to take over power in 2019, and is as such, applying every negative means to decimate our great party, including the relentless victimization of our key members.

It is clearly manifest that the same dictatorial tendencies manifested during the military regime of 1984 is being presently applied in the polity in the attempt to discredit PDP members and weaken our great party ahead of 2019.

Even other APC former governors who have on-going corruption cases in court are being rewarded with APC tickets for the forthcoming governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa.

On the issue of Senator Godswill Akpabio, we invite Nigerians to note that in the three rich states of Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and Lagos states, there were petitions against their former governors. Whereas the former APC governors of Lagos and Rivers were rewarded with ministerial nominations, their Akwa Ibom PDP counterpart and the current Senate Minority Leader is being hounded by the EFCC.

This is in spite of the common knowledge that Akwa-Ibom under the Senator Akpabio is arguably the least indebted state in Nigeria, and where the governor appropriately applied available resources to effectively transform the state. We challenge the APC to show Nigerians any of their governor that matched the feats achieved in Akwa-Ibom under Senator Akpabio, whose only building in Uyo is uncompleted and being built with verifiable bank loans.

The PDP therefore state categorically that the orchestrated investigation of Senator Akpabio is politically motivated and targeted at weakening the PDP for 2019 elections, by virtue of his being the face of opposition in the National Assembly.

It is also part of the fight by the Presidency to weaken the legislature as an arm of government and prevent it from effectively carrying out its constitutional role of checks and balances in a democracy.

As we speak, no APC member, despite the public petitions of corruption and squandering of state funds, has been invited or questioned by the EFCC. We challenge the EFCC, as an anti-corruption agency, to show Nigerians any member of the APC it has so far questioned, not to talk of being arrested since the emergence of this administration, despite petitions against them.

Recall that even the case of former Adamawa state Governor Murtala Nyako started before the advent of the current administration but is now reportedly being worked on ostensibly to extricate APC members involved.
This government has established itself as a hypocritical regime that accommodates corruption, profligacy and sleazes in government quarters while hoodwinking the people and witch-hunting PDP members.

The hypocrisy of this administration came to the fore with the show of insensitivity to the mood of the nation as copiously demonstrated in Saturday’s ostentatious thanksgiving party (with hundreds of millions of naira spent) by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SFG) Engr. Babachir David Lawal, at a time the people of the North East geo-political zone, where he hails from, are being ravaged by insurgency.

Finally, we request Mr. President to end this dictatorial proclivity of selective anti-corruption war that has characterized the APC government.
Signed:
Chief Olisa Metuh National Publicity Secretary

Read what El Rufai said to his critics & the reaction of some Nigerians

Former minister of the FCT and Kaduna state governor, Nasir El Rufai yesterday said that all those who are not happy with the appointments he's made since becoming governor can go and climb Kufena Mountain and fall. El-Rufai expressed his anger during the question and answer session at the 4th town hall meeting with stakeholders from Kaduna Central zone.
“If you are not happy with appointments made, you can go and climb Kufena Mountain and fall. It was what you voted that you got because we are aware that there are people who did not vote for us, in fact they worked against us. But now they claim to be APC members and loyal to the party. We know such people. And so there is no way they would expect anything from us. You didn’t vote us but you want appointments. What you will get is zero. It is politics and in whatever we do there is politics,” he said.
 Very funny though...

Just checkout the reactions of some Nigerians below:

El-Rufai denies nominating sister for ministerial position

The Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has refuted claims  that he nominated his foster  sister, Zainab Ahmed  as the ministerial nominee representing Kaduna state.
He dismissed the allegation as a figment of the imagination of some elements who are not pleased with the drastic changes going on in the state.

Zainab Ahmed was until her nomination the Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).

Governor El-Rufai who spoke on a wide range of issues at the 4th Town Hall Meeting to interface with the people of the state on Saturday, said he has discovered that some elements are carrying the face of the All Progressive Congress Party, APC, but deep in their hearts, they represent the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He insisted at the meeting which took place at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Complex,
Rigachikun, Kaduna, that he neither submitted anybody’s name as ministerial nominee nor that of  his sister.
President Muhammadu Buhari acted on his own wisdom by nominating the Executive Secretary of NIETI as minister, El- Rurai stated.

Governor El-Rufai took a swipe of his critics for accusing him of running a vendetta government, saying such people should not expect appointments from his administration.

Man resurrects in Mortuary 30 hours after being pronounced dead

Man resurrects in Mortuary 30 hours after being pronounced dead

70-year-old Amos Otene reportedly resurrected after he was certified dead by medical practitioners in Makurdi, Benue State.

According to a report, Doctors at a private hospital in the town had, on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, certified Otene dead at 4.30 a.m. and wheeled him into the mortuary where his was for 30 hours awaiting instructions from members of the family for embalming.

According to reports, Otene had had a toothache and was rushed to the private clinic, on Tuesday, August 25. A day later, he was certified dead and the doctors whose names were not mentioned in the report wanted to embalm him but because there was no family member to give the go-ahead, they instructed that his body be wheeled to the morgue.

30 hours later, Eche Otene, the son of the ‘deceased’, who lives in Lafia, Nasarawa State, went to the morgue to identify his father's body, however when he got there, his father raised his hand to acknowledge the presence of his son and followed that gesture by sitting up on the mortuary trolley.

The question everyone want answered is: Was the man sentenced to death by an inexperienced medical team or did he actually die but was brought back to life by God?

People who believe in science think Pa Otene could not have died in the first place and the question of resurrection was out of the question. The only explanation, according to a Makurdi-based medical practitioner, Dr. Ameh Edace, is that the  retiree could only have been “in a long coma”.

The Medical Director of Rekiya Memorial Hospital, Kaduna, Dr. Bello Mohammed, said that “in the history of medicine, there has not been any case of anybody coming back to life after being certified dead.” He added:
“If a person is pronounced clinically dead, he remains dead and there is no way he can come back to life, certainly not after 24 hours. On this case in question, the only medical explanation is that the patient was in a long coma.”
To this school of thought therefore, if  doctors  had certified Pa Otene dead, then the competence of such  doctors  should be called to question.

There are others who think it's a miracle by God who brought him back to life.

Is this a case of a miracle or medical incompetence?
