Late Papa Wemba: Read Don Jazzy’s father’s advise to artistes & managers 

Following the sudden death of Congolese legendary singer, Papa Wemba, Collins Enebeli who is music producer (Don Jazzy’s father) took to his Facebook wall to share a word of advise to artists and managers.

Here is what he wrote;

“The sad news of the death of Papa Wemba is a wake up call for artists and their managers to see reason why promoters and event organisers need the services of healthcare service providers for artists while on engagement for their events to avoid preventable fatalities as this.
Most artists due to their busy schedules are known not to be paying enough attention to their health and listening to their bodies which may have been under pressure and stretched to breaking point without them knowing it. Artiste managers need to insist that the services of a trained health personnel who specialises in handling celebrities is factored into their performance contract to ensure that artists are well monitored and looked after when on professional engagement anywhere in the world. That way, risks such as this will be detected early enough and efforts made to seek help before it is too late. In the past, The King of soul music James Brown died while on a series of shows lined up for him. The same thing happened to the King of pop Michael Jackson who died while also under pressure from preparations for his mother of all shows ‘This is it’. We are yet to recover from the shocking news of the demise of the purple rain crooner Prince earlier this week and now it is our own dear Papa Wemba. This is the reason we must all see the need to engage the services of professionals like Vickie Roberts Hospitality services who had been a veteran advocate for our artistes to be given good health care checks and having standby health personnel when they are on duty call anywhere in the world. Like John the Baptist, she has been lending her voice to this call and this might just be one more last call for us to save the lives of our stars by doing the right thing as a stitch in time saves nine. Political harlotry...Imagine! The immediate past Governor of Bauch State, Isa Yuguda, on Saturday, April 23 said his decision to leave PDP was informed by the $2.1bn arms scandal.

"I wish to tender my resignation as a member of the PDP effective from today, Saturday, 23rd April, 2016. My decision was informed by the shocking revelations on the embezzlement of $2.1bn meant for the procurement of arms to fight insurgency and reduce the sufferings of the victims of the insurgency,"  the statement reads.

"This dastardly act by the leadership and members of the government of the PDP has left a moral burden on all the members of the PDP. With $500m, the lives of the over two million deprived Internally Displaced Persons would have been better today
.
"I was a governor from the zone who received no material or financial support from the then Federal Government, and was also a witness to the wasting of human lives and properties because of the non-availability of fighting equipment and relief materials.

"The realisation that the funds were embezzled which led to the death of thousands of women, children, young men and unarmed members of the Nigerian security forces have made it impossible for me to continue my membership of the party.

"He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Rationality, morality and common sense suggest that the PDP chairman should have cleared his name before aspiring to that position. In an ideal country, an allegation against a public officer compels him to resign his appointment.

"In view of the foregoing reasons and my hard-earned reputation and other track records, I cannot be part of the characters that formed the present PDP leadership, as such, I do resign my membership of the party.

 

Nice one, Mr Yuguda. Hope you're not seeking relevance in the incumbent Party?

I want to publicly commend the incumbent President and also his predecessor - the former for releasing 10,000 tonnes of grains to combat rising food prices and the latter for storing those grains for his clueless successor. It takes courage for the incumbent President to admit that food commodity prices are skyrocketing on his watch but more courage is needed to admit that his policy on rice importation without doing anything to encourage local production is wrong. Presently, rice imports for Nigerian consumption come in through other countries and are smuggled into Nigeria to be sold at exorbitant prices. The last time the grain reserves were released was in 2012 during the flood crisis. Today, two things are responsible: systematic ban on rice imports and the attacks of Fulani Herdsmen on the Middle-Belt which is the food-basket of the nation.

This Govt is benefitting from Jonathan's cluelessness and therefore redefining Cluelessness by showing us the real Cluelessness. The house that wisdom built is usually looted by foolishness.

Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has visited the ugly scene where Fulani Herdsmen invaded Nimbo community, in Uzo-Uwani LGA, killing over hundred innocent people in.

The Governor was in tears over the gruesome murder of the innocent people of that community.
