READ: Why Amina Zakari Can Never Be INEC Chairman – Ex-Minister

Former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi who is founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has insisted that the acting head of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Amina Zakari, can never be made the substantive chairman.
Gbagi, who served as Minister under former President, Goodluck Jonathan told Vanguard that notwithstanding her level of competence,
“I can confirm to you that Amina Zakari will never be chairperson of INEC”.He stressed further: “I can assure you that Buhari is too sensible to make Amina the substantive INEC chairperson no matter how competent she is. The history of Nigeria has made it that the President and the INEC chair always come from different regions. Amina is only bidding time in INEC. She will go when Buhari finds a competent person.
“A government’s business cannot be left in a vacuum. When the last chairman was leaving, somebody necessarily must take over in an acting capacity. What we have is a transition to a different government.
“In a country where the President is inundated with many criminals, he has to take his time to appoint the right person for an important agency as INEC,” he stated.

Air Force Lacks Military Equipment That Could Help End Insurgency – Ex Chief of Air Staff, Marshal Amosu

Air Force Lacks Military Equipment That Could Help End Insurgency – Ex Chief of Air Staff, Marshal Amosu

naf

Immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu has said that there are military equipment meant for the Air Force capable of tracking and neutralizing Improvised Explosive Devices mostly used for soft target attacks and bombings, which the Boko Haram terrorists have used in several attacks.
However, he pointed out that this hardware and other such equipment which are produced by the United States of America and could be of immense benefit to the Nigerian Air Force can’t be sold to Nigeria as they are only meant for NATO countries and are barred from third world as well as African countries.

“The decision of the American government to review its ban on sale of military equipment to the Nigerian military is a welcome development. There are some capabilities particularly for the air force that are needed to enhance operations. Essentially there are three issues that affect the operations of this nature (war on terror); one of them is the mission responsiveness; another one is the flexibility and capability, and when it comes to capability, whatever we can get from any nation is welcome,” Amosu said during his flying out ceremony at the NAF base, Abuja.

“These platforms or equipment will come with training. It will come with platform particularly for surveillance, because the kind of enemies we are dealing with, I will like to call them evasive enemies, so we need a lot of surveillance capability.

“With this capability, particularly when it comes to force protection, we can actually do most of the surveillance here so that we will be able to detect if you have IEDs around location with ease. But right now we are not enjoying that so we are hoping that the US will lift ban on that area, and let us have the capability that they extend to NATO nations which I think will be fine.”

The former CAS described the threat of terrorism as very real, noting that if the terrorists succeed, no part of the nation will be spared. “Hence, it is absolutely critical that we match the determination of the terrorists with an even more ruthless determination of our own to overcome their threats.”

“The fight against terrorism is going to receive higher boost. I want to assure you that the people we have left behind are part of the team, and of course we know that the freedom of movement and action of the Boko Haram terrorists have been substantially depleted. What is left now is mop up exercise and to make sure some of our borders are completely closed and secured.”

“Nigeria needs its gallant armed forces to rise to the challenge of defending the country against the scourge of terrorism and restoring the peace and security necessary for sustained development. Security and peace will return and then the atmosphere for prosperity will take effect. We are very sure and confident that we are leaving the services in capable hands,” Amosu said.

President Buhari’s Schedule Shocks Aso Rock Staff. You Need To Read It

President Buhari’s Schedule Shocks Aso Rock Staff. You Need To Read It

This report came from  abusidiqu.com. It is the site which reveals the daily routine of President Muhammadu Buhari as he presides over the affairs of Nigeria from the presidential villa in Aso Rock. According to the report, the president lives an austere life.

The president works from 7am into the wee hours of the night, but still makes out time for his five daily prayers as a devout Muslim.

Mr. President then consults with few underground advisers and aides in one of the guest houses in the villa on a daily basis to weigh his options in his policy decisions. Speaking about the tight schedule of Buhari, Mallam Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant on media to the president said: “Maybe because of his military background, the President wakes up early and he is an avid listener to radio stations.

Before he reports for work by 7am, he must have listened to all the talk shows on radio and you will be amazed how he picks you up on some national issues discussed on radio. Most times, he starts his day by 6am.”

He continued saying: “The President works from the early hours of the day till 1am and 2am. In fact, there was a time the team around him had a meeting and expressed worries that the President was having only three hours of sleep. They therefore redesigned his schedule by saying no more appointment by 9pm. The new policy did not last more than one week. After that, the President worked till 1am.”

Responding to a question on the issue, Shehu said: “I think it has to do with his military training because it got to a point that one of the youngest staff working with the President could not cope with his schedule.”

How Ritualists Used Danfo Bus To Kidnap Me In Ajegunle Lagos

How Ritualists Used Danfo Bus To Kidnap Me In Ajegunle Lagos

ritualists used bus drivers lagos

In church, he simply said that he was kidnapped by suspected ritualists and mysteriously escaped before being butchered like others who were abducted alongside with him.

It was testimony time at St Paul’s Catholic Church, Ebute –Metta, Lagos and Onyeyiri Victor Umeoyinagwu, 25, was one of the testifiers who was eager to tell his story. His testimony was that God saved him from the hands of death.
After the church service, Saturday Sun reporter, who was at the church, had a chat with Onyeyiri and he recounted his encounter.

“I am an apprentice attached to Mr. Nonso Umeh, a spare parts dealer. Part of my duty is to buy goods for the shop. On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, I was sent by my boss to buy goods at Apapa spare parts market. On my way, I boarded a bus from Ebute- Metta and alighted at Ajegungle area of Lagos State. Initially, I wanted to board an okada (commercial motorcycle) but realised that I do not have a lower naira denomination. I knew no okada man will carry me if they knew that I will be using N1000 note to make payment. I boarded another bus heading to Apapa.”

According to him, the bus he boarded had few passengers with five males. The presence of two young boys of his age made him to feel comfortable in the bus. He relaxed and the bus zoomed off. Minutes later, someone sitting behind him covered his nose with a cloth attempting to choke him. His words: “The next thing I knew was that my face was covered with clothes. I could not shout. The piece of cloth was tight and had a bad odour; the scent was that of a chemical. I guess that I became unconscious as I can’t recall what happened next till we got to a compound.” Describing the compound, he said the house was yet to be painted with high fence and of equal gate height.

There were no houses close to it and there were fleets of cars in the compound. “I did not regain consciousness until I was dropped off in a very big compound. The bus that conveyed us to the place drove off, leaving us with five scary men. The boys were no longer there. There were a lot of cars in the compound. One of the men started to point at us, saying ‘this will be good for stew, this one for pepper soup’ we were scared. We started to beg them. I even offered them the money I was supposed to use to buy parts.

“They responded that they will take my money and other things they need from me, that it was of no use to beg. As I was begging, one of them asked for my phone, I gave it to him; he then asked me series of questions, I answered all. I told him that I am only an apprentice. He asked for my boss’ name and I told him. I gave him the phone and he was with it for a while. Later, he dropped the phone for me. It was then that I called my boss,” he stated. While in captivity, Onyeyiri knew that the only thing that could save him was prayer.

When he had an opportunity to communicate with his master, the only request he made was prayer, “Please, pray for me, I was in captivity!” According to him, in the night of the same day (Wednesday), they took one of the other two boys, captured, outside. The next thing they heard was the sound of bone breaking, clangs of axe butchering meat. The boy never returned. The next day (Thursday), they took the other boy, the sound was same and he too never returned.

“On Friday night was my turn to be butchered; one of them took me by my hands. One was in front and the other at my back. The one in the front suddenly turned and rained curses on the one at the back for slapping him. He said the one at the back slapped him.

The one at the back didn’t like his counterpart’s utterances, so, he shouted back at him, telling him he did not slap him. As they were arguing, it led into a fight. The third one holding me left me to break up the fight. Miraculously, I passed among them. I found my way outside the house, but still in the compound. “It was night, I could not see much, when I got to the gate, it was locked with chains and a gigantic padlock. It scared me and I lost hope.

Nevertheless, a voice told me to check the padlock and see if it was locked. I touched the padlock; it was not locked. The gigantic padlock fell apart, I opened it and ran out of the compound,” he narrated. After the escape, Onyeyiri said he was tired and could not run, adding that there was a thick forest in front of the unpainted house, and that he preferred to run into the forest than waiting for his captors to catch up with him.

When he could not find strength again, he fell. It was then that his deceased father appeared to him. “Every other thing that happened to me was in a trance. I felt a hand tapping me on the shoulder, as I raised my head to look, I saw my late father. We ran together, as we did, I was hearing the sound of heavy foots after us. It made me run faster and stronger. “At the end, I found myself at Oyinbo bus stop. I then trekked home. They said when I got home the person I was asking after was my father.

However, I know my father is deceased,” he stated. Among those felicitating with Onyeyiri was his master, Mr. Nonso who seems to be the happiest. When Onyeyiri was missing, he had made efforts to contact all the prayer groups he knows, both in Lagos and outside the state. Despite the assurance given to him by police that they would do all they could to search for his apprentice, he also asked for help from friends and counterparts.

He said when they got home on that day, after asking after everyone, he found out that Onyeyiri was missing. “I tried to call him, and the call didn’t go through. I sent one of my other boys to check him in the shop. Before the other boy left, I had called Onyeyiri’s friend to check if he was hanging out with them or in the market. They searched the whole market for him, yet they could not find him,” he said. Mr. Nonso said that a message was delivered on his phone, which must have been at the time one of Onyeyiri’s captors was questioning him and collected his phone. “Around 9:57pm, a message came into my phone from his number.

The message read; ’he said you are his boss don’t waste your time looking for him, you will not set your eyes on him again, this boy is important to us, he fell into our trap’. At that point, I didn’t know anything else to do other than to go to police and commit him into God’s hand. “We went to Denton police station to lodge a complainant, they said we should come back after 24 hours, before declaring the boy missing. We also told many pastors. And they had a special prayer session for him,” he said.

After the message, around some minutes past 10 o’clock, he said Onyeyiri number called him, telling him that he does not know where he was and we should pray for him. “It was after I had attended evening mass that he returned, we massaged him; he was thirsty and drank a lot of water. Thereafter he caught some breath and narrated his ordeal to us. What was worrisome was when he was asking after his father, we did not do anything unique, we just prayed and God answered our prayer”, he stated.

Chai!!! Lizard Man Discovered in South Carolina Swamp

Chai!!! Lizard Man Discovered in South Carolina Swamp

lk

A woman left a church in Bishopville, South Carolina, on Sunday, and was understandably startled at the sight of someone — or some-THING — running in front of some trees.
The shock lasted long enough for her to get a grip on her senses — as well as her phone —  to snap a picture of what looks like a fast-moving lizard man.

To be more precise, it looked like something you might see on the Syfy channel at 3 a.m., when you see the cheapest in science fiction theater.

In a skeptical world where people complain about how supposed photos of Bigfoot or Sasquatch are always blurry, the picture above seems to suggest that lizard-like creatures don’t mind having their picture taken.

The woman who took the photograph — identified only as Sarah from Sumter, South Carolina — contacted ABC News 4 WCIV-TV in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, about her “encounter.”

“My hand to God, I am not making this up. So excited,” she wrote to the station, explaining how she and a friend saw the lizard man near the Scape Ore Swamp (see red marker in the following map).

Nearly 30 years of lizard man sightings have surfaced from the Bishopville-Scape Ore Swamp area. The first report can be traced to 1988 when a young man stopped his car on a road near the swamp to change a flat tire in the middle of the night, later claiming he’d been chased by the creature.

Eyewitnesses have described a 7-foot-tall, human-like being with green, scaly skin, three-toed feet and hands, according to AnimalPlanet.com. The reports also include glowing red eyes, like the ones in the lizard man picture at the top of this story.

A 2012 episode of the Syfy series, “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files,” focused on South Carolina’s lizard man legend. The investigative team, led by former FBI special agent Ben Hansen, went deep into the forest near Bishopville and emerged with the following video:

“There was scant evidence out there of his existence, so we filmed what I call an ethical hoax as kind of a social experiment,” Hansen told HuffPost.

“The whole idea was to see how much buzz we could generate on social media and online just by having a really vague video showing a figure walking through the dark forest.

“So, we worked with a guy who specializes in transforming himself into a lizard man, using special effects. He helped us create a lizard man suit, which I wore. Being in South Carolina, one of my biggest concerns was to keep everybody else away from the area, because if hunters saw a lizard man walking through the forest, they wouldn’t ask questions before taking me down!”

This wouldn’t be the first time where an individual donned a costume of a mythical creature in an attempt to generate public reaction.

Hansen believes the picture taken of an alleged lizard man outside that Bishopville church on Sunday is dubious at best.

“This is an example of somebody pulling off a hoax by leaving nothing for the imagination,” Hansen said. “I wouldn’t be surprised when we see such blatant hoaxes like this come out that they are direct publicity stunts for tourism. It’s like a paparazzi photo of a celebrity walking down the street, yet this looks like Godzilla in a latex suit.”

HuffPost is quite familiar with lizard individuals — one, in particular. Erik Sprague, the self-proclaimed Lizardman, is a performance artist who transformed himself, through body modification, into a lizard. This included a full-body tattoo of green scales, cosmetic implants and bifurcated tongue.

Lekwa The Nigerian Yahoo Guy Who Makes N100M Every 6 Months

Lekwa The Nigerian Yahoo Guy Who Makes N100M Every 6 Months

l

Robinson Agbonifoayetan, 32, of Welling, is facing jail after pleading guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation in an Isleworth Crown Court.

The conman used images of real-life US soldiers to befriend the women over Skype saying he wanted to move to the UK to marry them. He posed as “General James Krulak” and “General James Raul” and persuaded them to help transfer his $8.5 million (£5.4 million) retirement fund — a “box of treasure” from a family in Afghanistan.

Yesterday Scotland Yard issued an appeal, saying it has identified two other possible victims of the fraudster but fears there may be many more women who have lost money. Detectives from the Yard’s new FALCON cyber crime unit say they have uncovered evidence the con was part of a “sophisticated global network” preying on vulnerable women.

The court heard how the British victim, in her sixties and living in Ealing, was befriended by a man she believed to be a US general after he contacted her out of the blue on Skype.

The man insisted on speaking to her several times a day, paying her countless compliments and confiding in her about tragic family events, like his parents and sister dying in a car crash. Within days he talked of marrying her and introduced the idea of a box containing $8.5million, which he said he had been given by a family after he saved their lives serving in Afghanistan.

She also agreed to meet a delivery agent at a rail station who produced a United Nations diplomatic ID card bearing the name Christopher Williams, saying he came from St Lucia — though the card bore the flag of Belgium. Police say this was actually Agbonifoayetan, who was also the fake US general on Skype.

The victim used up her life savings, pawned jewellery, sold her car and took out loans to pay the spiralling costs before finally becoming suspicious and going to the police. Detectives arrested Agbonifoayetan at Heathrow airport on December 17 2014, as he tried to leave the country on a flight to Nigeria. When police raided his family home in Welling they found a receipt book with details of a second victim in Devon.

The woman, in her fifties, was sold a similar story by a “General James Raul” and handed over £22,000.Detectives are now seeking a compensation order to help the victims recoup some of the cash, which was sent to Ghana and Nigeria.

Detective Constable Nick Curtis, who led the inquiry, said: “We are coming across a number of cases of romance fraud. I urge anyone who thinks they may have been a victim to report it to police now.” And tha'ts how the cookie crumbled for General James
