General Buhari Explains Why He Challenged 2003, 2007 And 2011 Elections

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday explained why he went to court to challenge the results of the presidential elections, he lost in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
Buhari, who stated this when Delta State All Progressives Congress members visited him in Abuja, said that he took the decision because he believed Nigeria must be free.
Buhari, who contested and lost 2003, 2007 and 2011 presidential elections, said,
“Going through the court is not easy, both materially and physically, and I maintained that consistency because my view about my country is that Nigeria should be truly free.”
He condoled with the delegates over the killing of some people during the last general elections.
The president-elect stated, “I understand why many of you, who were denied the opportunity to choose those you want to represent and lead you are taking the line I took in the last 12 years – in line with our constitution.
“Whether you get it or not, the most important thing is that you believe in the system and you should continue to try until the system is perfect.
“I express my condolence to you for the people murdered and I assure you that my objective of remaining consistently in partisan politics is to make sure that Nigerians are given their inherent right to choose whoever they want to lead them,” he said.

Aggrieved PDP Aspirants Want A Refund of Fees For Their Nomination Forms

A group of Peoples Democratic Party members in Adamawa state under the banner, PDP Aggrieved Aspirants Forum, has threatened to drag the party to court for failing to refund money used to buy nomination forms.

Addressing journalists in Yola on Thursday, the chairman of the group, Liazaru Eliada-Gugu, said the party had advertised for various elective positions but failed to conduct the primaries.

“We the aggrieved PDP aspirants bought forms to contest the primary election and since they did not conduct any primary election, it is only natural for them to return our money,” Mr. Eliada-Gugu, who was a senatorial aspirant in the just concluded election, said.

“We have made our request known to the leadership of our party both at the state and national level. They have promised to address the issue but up till now they have not done anything.”

“When we met the national leader of the party and the national chairman of the party, they agreed to do something about us and we were satisfied with that meeting. But after several weeks of waiting without response we are left with no other option than to take our case to court.”

Traffic Jam In Lagos May Not End Soon - NUPENG

Tokunbo Korodo, south-west chairman of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), says the harrowing experience of Lagos motorists and commuters arising from the fuel scarcity and gridlock on roads may not end anytime soon.

According to Korodo, the trucks causing the gridlock on Eko, Liverpool and Coconut bridges, which has affected other major roads, such as Ikorodu road, may not leave the roads anytime soon despite the directive of the Lagos state govt.

Speaking with NAN in Lagos on Thursday, he said that only three depots out of over 50 in the state had petroleum products to dispense. “The development has compelled hundreds of trucks to head for the three depots to lift oil. This is the key reason for the unprecedented traffic jam that has locked down Lagos in recent days.”

Stakeholders at the meeting were NUPENG, petroleum tankers drivers (PTD), national association of road transport owners (NARTO), association of maritime truck owners (AMATO) and independent petroleum marketers association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Residents in Nigeria’s economic capital have faced tough times trying to buy premium motor spirit, and their woes have been compounded by traffic jams on most roads in the city. Korodo named the three depots currently having oil as capital oil and gas tank farm, ibeto oil and gas tank farm, and integrated oil and gas tank farm, all in the Apapa.

He said the gridlock would ease if trucks queuing for oil would load and leave Lagos by weekend. But observers say such scenario is unlikely. Korodo suggested that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation should decentralize loading of petroleum products to ease the pressure on Lagos. “This is the only way Lagos residents can get reprieve from the gridlock, which has forced up transport fares and cost of foodstuff,” he said.

Anonymous Fan Writes An Open Letter To Skales

Anonymous Fan Writes An Open Letter To Skales

Below is the letter written by a fan to Skales;
So I woke up this morning and started my day with the songs from the Skales playlist that I created on my music player, and I got the same old feeling I get every time I listened to Skales music “Bliss”. After a couple of replays I decided its time I let the world and Skales know how much a fan I am and I hope he gets to read this.
I remember the first time I was introduced to Skales music, like a picture from Michael Angelo’s work. Sitting by my radio set on a rainy afternoon, in October 2011, and the radio host starts to talk about his special guest and gives him an interesting introduction which prompted me to turn up the volume of my radio set. During this interview i had the opportunity to listen to Skales singles “Must Shine” “Heading For The Grammy” and the recent single “Mukulu”. At that point I made it a mandate to keep myself up to date on and everything about Skales.
Over the years of following Skales and his music, he has made me smile time over time with hit songs after hit songs, beautiful performances on collaborations, killing every stage he turns up to perform at. Also over these same years I have gotten to learn lessons from the Man Of The Year him. From the time when he was called a copycat after the release of his hit single “Mukulu” to the time it seemed like he was the rejected stone of his former label.
Skales kept pushing on, doing what he knows how to do best. At some point it seemed like Skales was getting popular from the jokes which always centred around him. This just brought back a memory of me getting into a fight after i had a joke about Skales, Yes I’m a diehard fan of Skales.
The Man Of The Year has thought me to persevere through whatever the world throws. From the caricature artiste that he was turned into, to the man who turned around to change the story of his career. My Heart Knew joy as the story of my favourite artiste changed. First, it was your super hit song “Shake Body” which turned into a national Anthem, I couldn’t get enough of this song. Still had fans like me shaking our body to the anthem, he hit us with more hits after that. Not forgetting the
With much anticipation for the album Man Of The Year, I expect the world to clear their playlist, save the date like I have to cop the album. Skales, you deserve every buzz and accolade the world has to offer right now. Someone made a statement the other day saying “Who Dash Am Man Of The Year” let me use this medium to clear and answer that question. He has churned out hits after hits since in less than 15months, from Shake Body, to the rap single Obi, “I am For Real”, “Je Kan Mo”, not forgetting the amazing album track teaser “Jogodo” featuring the musical Taliban himself, Oritse Femi. Don’t also forget within these 15months he has risen from the status of “caricature artiste” to a CEO in his own record Label “Ohk Entertainment”, getting a mouth watering record label offer from “Baseline”. Now tell me again why he shouldn’t be crowned the Man Of The Year abeg. It Takes a lot to get to where he is.
Dear Skales, thank you for being such an inspiration to me and many others. I’ve enjoyed every moment I spent reading up about you and listening to your music. I’ve lived and learned with you. Found love, life and hope from your story. Raoul John Njeng-Njeng “Skales” , my Man Of The Year.
