Global food shortages will become three times more likely as a result of climate change according to a report by a joint US-British taskforce, which warned that the international community needs to be ready to respond to potentially dramatic future rises in prices. Aljazeera reports:

Food shortages, market volatility and price spikes are likely to occur at an exponentially higher rate of every 30 years by 2040, said the Taskforce on Extreme Weather and Global Food System Resilience.

With the world’s population set to rise to nine billion by 2050 from 7.3 billion today, food production will need to increase by more than 60 percent and climate-linked market disruptions could lead to civil unrest, the report, published on Friday, said.

“The climate is changing and weather records are being broken all the time,” said David King, the UK foreign minister’s Special Representative for Climate Change. “The risks of an event are growing, and it could be unprecedented in scale and extent.” Globalisation and new technologies have made the world’s food system more efficient but it has also become less resilient to risks, said King.

The palace used by the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse is shut and will not be opened until a replacement has been named and decorated. Attempt by  PM News to get the kingmakers to list the possible successors to Oba Sijuwade Olubuse proved futile as they said they could not reveal such information. Below is the picture of ‘Ile Oodua’ the palace of the next Ooni of Ife.

Yes! I Must Sleep With Ronaldo, Wizkid Before I Retire – New President Of Prostitutes’ Association

Yes! I Must Sleep With Ronaldo, Wizkid Before I Retire – New President Of Prostitutes’ Association

She was sitting inside her expansive palour, located on a swampy street in Ikotun area of Lagos when this reporter caught her.

Jessica Elvis, the president-elect of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes, NANP, just finished having her lunch when the reporter arrived. ‘You are not a farmer. I don wash your back o,” she said jokingly with a warm handshake amid cheerful smile.

In the red light zone, Elvis, whose real name is Oluchi needs no introduction. She was until her election as the new president of NANP, the longest serving secretary, between 2002 to 2015.

In this exclusive interview with DAILY POST’s Ameh Comrade, the mother of one spoke on her victory at the Saturday’s poll, plans for the association and why she would like to make love to Real Madrid and Portuguese soccer star, C Ronaldo as well as Nigerian music sensation, Dayo Balogun, otherwise known as Wizkid before she retires.

You’ve been agitating for the baton of leadership of this association, tell us the plans you have for NANP?

I must really confess, it’s not easy as seen from the stand. But there’s nothing much, I have been the third in command since 2002 (General Secretary) and I have been doing most of the jobs. I don’t see much difference though.

Talking about the plan, like I said during my campaign, I want to let people know that you don’t have to work in NNPC or Central Bank before you make it in life.

As the new president of NANP, I will make sure our members are well taken care of. I will ensure all our offices across the 36 states of the federation start functioning. I will also make sure all registered members get ID card.

As you can see, the world has gone global and we should also follow the trend; in this regard, we have proposed to launch a new website which will have the profile and contacts of all our registered members across the country. If anyone is in need of our service, all you need to do is to go online and make your choice.

Secondly, I will also fight for the freedom and security of our members. We’ve heard of cases of our members being molested and killed. It is callous. We will have to stop all that.

I will also try to approach the new government on how to make life better for us. We supported the president during his campaign. We even declared free s*x when he won and we expect him to reciprocate by looking into our plight. We are also part of the society.

You have been the Secretary General of this association since 2002, what do you think the last leader failed to do?

See, I don’t want to rubbish anybody. My joy is that I have won and I am here to work for those who elected me.

Your predecessor, Madam Efoyo claimed you didn’t win the election, how would you react to that?
If she says I didn’t win, let her call the police to come and arrest me na. All I can say is that I won the election and there is no doubt about that.
Why the choice for prostitution while there are other jobs out there?
Point of correction, we are not prostitutes.
Who are you then?
We are friends of the society. Call us peacemakers. National Association of Nigerian Peacemakers.

Do you regret choosing this part of profession?

Why should I regret what puts food on my table; built me houses in Lagos and Abuja and even trained my daughter in school? I have no reason whatsoever to regret.

So you have a daughter?

Yes of course, she went for summer coaching. She is 15 years now.

When and how did you give birth to her?

I gave birth to her fifteen years ago.

Where is the dad?

That is story for another day.

You mean she doesn’t know who her father is?

Must she? I am both the father and mother.

Are you telling us you impregnated yourself?

Maybe or maybe not

…;Laughs (Give me make I marry her na)

If you near her, I go cut you ‘bell’ (laughter). My pikin no go marry Nigerian oo.

Would you allow her to take after you?

When she comes of age, she would decide

How old are you?

I don’t know, my mum didn’t tell me when I was born.

But do you have any plan of leaving this work and getting married some day?

Marriage drove me into this and I hate the word marriage with passion.

You mean you were once married?

Yes, but things fell apart. But I’m glad because it was a blessing in disguise.

When do you plan to retire?

Maybe when I make love to C Ronaldo (laughter)

Do you mean the Portuguese footballer?

(Excitedly) Yes! He is my crush. I love him so much that his pictures even turn me on (laughter). I use to tease my colleagues that I must sleep with him and Wiz Kid before I retire.

Have you met Wiz Kid one on one?

We have met on several occasions but he doesn’t know me. I even have a picture I took with him during a show in Eko Hotel, but he doesn’t know what I do.

So, how do you intend to sleep with him?

God go do am when the time comes.

Talking about God, do you go to church?

Of course, I am a firm believer of Jesus Christ. I don’t miss church activities. Sometimes, I would declare fasting and prayer for business to come. Whenever I’m fasting, I don’t go out or ‘do’ that day.

Where do you worship?

For credibility sake, let’s leave out the name of the church.

Aside the people you sleep with, do you have any special person?

Yes, I have a boyfriend. It would shock you to know that I am very jealous. The day I noticed my guy was cheating on me, I nearly cut off his thing.

Is he aware you are a ‘peacemaker’?

No, he is not based in Lagos.

What if he gets to know?

Na you wan tell am?

Is Jessica Elvis your real name?

No, my real name is Oluchi.

What is you father’s name?

His name is my father

Where did you come from?

I’m a Nigerian.

Which State precisely?

Must you know my state?

Are your parents aware you are a prostitute, sorry, peacemaker?

Not really.

Do you still go out to ‘make peace’?

Well, I have a bigger responsibility now. I now control over 20,000 people. So my movements would have to reduce.

What is your take on the legalization of same s*x marriage?

I am neither against nor in support of it, but all I know is that whatever makes you happy, do it.

Do you make love to women?

No, I’m not a lesbian.

Don’t you think you are offending God?

You holy pass me? It’s funny that people have already condemned us to hell. But it would shock you on the last day to see who will be in heaven and hell. As for me, I am going to heaven. I don’t know about you.

What have you achieved from this job?

I have cars. I eat food of my choice. I have been able to put a roof on the head of my parents. I have properties across the country. I have clothing line and several other businesses.

Do you have male members?

You wan join? (General laughter)

Alhaji Shehu Gabam, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, said President Muhammadu Buhari has good intentions for the country and urged the opposition to support him.

Gabam, Chief of staff to former Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State, made the call on Saturday in Tilde-Fulani, Toro Local Government Area, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.

According to him, President Buhari has a good intention for the country and there is no need for the opposition to start bombarding him.Well, I believe the president should be allowed to determine his own pace and also determine his own cruising level.“As an opposition party, we are monitoring with keen interest with a lot of maturity, and a lot of respect for him.

“He is the president of the country whether you voted him or not, he is the President of Nigeria.
“The institution of presidency must be respected, and I am among one of them who always appeal that everybody should respect the position of the presidency,” Gabam said.“You can differ with him on issues, operational issues, policies and programmes, and you can take him up on any other issues, we should be decent and not rascal in our approach.

“As for me, nobody should insult the president, nobody should insult the institution of the presidency,” he stressed.

The PDP chieftain further appealed to the president not to run a government that is purely investigative, but run a government that will alleviate the suffering of the people.

Chai! See How A Nigerian Women Turns Innocent Girls To Sex Slaves In Dubai

Chai! See How A Nigerian Women Turns Innocent Girls To Sex Slaves In Dubai

Nicole
A Facebook user known as Emeka Ugwuonye, Posted on a Facebook group pleading that one Madam Esther Otubo Nicole (pictured above) is a Human Trafficker who sends Nigerian girls into prostitution in Dubai. According to him, she videotapes the girls in their birth suit and blackmails them into prostitution in Dubai and should they fail to pay up, release the video on Facebook.
Personally we got the video of one lady recorded under the most dehumanizing conditions, un-clothed and scared. Her cover was blown after she released a video of one of the girls, Precious online.

In 2014, Precious, completed her university education and the National Youth Service Corps programme in Edo State. Precious, as she identified herself while nude in a video, decided to seek better opportunity outside Nigeria. Precious convinced her parents to finance her desire to travel. Her mother had no option than to support her by processing the needed travel documents to her dreamland.

On August 28, 2014, the naïve, young and pretty lady was ordered to stand naked in front of a camera by one of the most notorious Nigerian sex slave and human traffickers in Dubai, Esther Nicole Otubo.

The video recordings of this innocent girl was to blackmail her and other girls under her “PROSTITUTION BUSINESS EMPIRE” in case they refused to pay their daily dividends to her. Precious hopelessly agreed to Otubo’s terms of engagement, Watch gruesome video below;
Emeka Ugwuonye, an attorney, is representing Precious. Ugwuonye, through his advocacy group, Due Process Advocates, is in the lead to hunt and prosecute these Nigerian ‘Dubai Madams’ who are involved in the sex slavery and human trafficking of young naïve Nigerian women desperately but innocently seeking to better their lives.

He told me;
“Jebose, I have videos of two different girls recorded under the most debasing conditions, naked and scared. What Nicole does is to videotape these girls in the nude and blackmail them into prostitution in Dubai. This woman is like none that you have come across before. She is a ‘Madam’ and a human trafficker. She takes desperate young Nigerian girls on a sex slave mission to Dubai or other Middle Eastern countries for prostitution. Before they leave Nigeria, she would first make the girls and their parents swear an oath at a local shrine in the belief that such would place a curse of sudden death on those girls were they to disobey her. The total amount she plans to get from each girl is about $30,000.
“The girl is to become a prostitute, make money from her ‘clients’ and keep giving such money to the woman until she agrees she has received $30,000 from the girl. This Madam uses blackmail as an additional means of enforcing her plan. She would take a video recording of each girl, who would have been made to stand stark naked. She would tell each girl that if she failed to pay her $30,000 when she gets to Dubai or elsewhere, she would release the video tape on Facebook and would delete it when she eventually gets paid.
“These girls apparently agree to this. I use the word “apparently” on purpose to raise questions about the voluntariness of these girls’ participation in this. Ostensibly, some of these girls have not paid the Madam all the money she demanded of them. That must have been what led Madam to release that video on Facebook. I have seen videos of three girls in such humiliation. People forwarded them to me in order for me to use DPA to help track down the woman that is behind all this.
“There are many, many Nigerian girls suffering under her control. These girls lack the ability to cry out. They are in slavery and bondage. We must set them free and we must have the ‘Madam’ arrested.”
Dubai Madams Ann and Ebony
Ugwuonye also identified a second ‘Madam’ in this Dubai commercial sex deal gone bad. He added;
“Madam Ann, which is the only name we have of her, has five girls under her control. Madam Ann lodges her girls in a three-star hotel while she would stay at home and offer them men in exchange for cash. After each girl must have slept with four or five men, Madam Ann would come and collect the money they would have made from them.
“The hotels cannot be busted by the Dubai Police. These Madams change hotels like every two days to remain undetected. Any girl that stays in the hotel for more than four days would be expected to leave because of the slow sex seekers’ traffic. The hotel’s members of staff may not know what is going on. So if there are steady traffic of clients in the hotel and to a particular room, after two days, the hotel would notice and ask the girls to leave. The only things they take to the hotels are sexy lingerie to entice customers.”

Singer, songwriter and photographer, TY Bello, shared the beautiful image of late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunad Sijuwade who died few days ago.
She speaks of her encounter with the royal father and how he refused to allow her take photograph of him because he didn’t want her to capture his spirit. Read what she shared on Instagram and the amazing portrait...
OONI OF IFE: ALWAYS AROUND TOMORROW. I can't count how many times I've had a stranger stop me from making a photograph of them because.... 'They didn't want me to capture their spirit... And run away with it'..
The 'running away' part will make a good story for another day but I can ' sort of' see where they are coming from.... I believe in mortality.. That one day we all end our journey on this planet.. I also believe in eternity... You may not all see things exactly the same way I do.. But we can all agree .. That the images that capture our spirits will be around tomorrow.. As the Ooni of ife is laid to rest.. I took out time to look at the portraits I made of him.. It took me right back to that day when I got to serve his royal highness.. Like he was still sitting before me in that room. The opportunity will always be a blessing to me.

orji uzor kalu

The Youth Wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has rejected former Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu’s FIFA presidency bid.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Chairman of Ohanaeze Youth Wing in Abia State, Mr. Chetachi Ikpe on Thursday, the group said the former governor deserves to be in prison for the way he mismanaged Abia during his eight year tenure, and not FIFA.

he statement read in part: “It is with rude shock that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing read in a newspaper over the purported endorsement of Orji Uzor Kalu as the next FIFA President.

“We are aware that FIFA, as the World governing body in charge of Football, it is only men of proven integrity that can only manage its affairs not people like Orji Uzor Kalu.

“Orji Uzor Kalu topped the list of corrupt politicians that Ohanaeze Youths sent to President Buhari for Speedy prosecution over the embezzlement of resources of Abia State, between 1999-2007 and should be in Prison not FIFA.

“The recent purported endorsement of Orji Uzor Kalu by Ohanaeze Youths is not true as the apex Igbo youths want Orji kalu in prisons, which automatically disqualifies him to contest for FIFA Presidency”.
