Code of conduct bureau says they wont make public Buhari/Osinbajo's assets, gives reason.

Despite controversy surrounding the declaration of their assets, the Code of Conduct Bureau will not make public the details of assets declared by President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo due to limitations in federal laws covering such release, the office has said.

According to Premuim Times, despite his promise to declare , the president has yet to publicly declare his assets three weeks after taking office. His office said those details will be made available after the Code of Conduct Bureau authenticates claims in the declaration forms.

A civil society group, Stop Impunity Nigeria, an affiliate of the Centre for Social Justice, had on June 1, 2015 applied to the CCB to request copies of the completed assets declaration forms by the President and his deputy.

But, in its response CCB/HQ/670/G/1/104 dated June 10, 2015 and signed by Ijeanuli Ofor on behalf of the Chairman, the CCB declined the request, citing the absence of prescribed law by the National Assembly authorizing the release of such information to the public.

The Bureau, in its response, made available to PREMIUM TIMES, conceded the right by Nigerians under section 1(1) 3 and 4 of the FOIA 2011, to “access or request information, whether written or not in written form, in the custody of any public agency”.

Regardless, the Bureau said sections 12(1) (a) (v), 14(1) (b) and 15(1)9a) of the same Act empowered it to decline any request, which it considered an “invasion of personal privacy”.

“Assets declarations by public officers contain such personal information, which falls within the exemptions to the disclosure of information in the FOIA,” the Bureau said.

"I Was Forced To Have Sex With My Pastor" Church member

Imagine!!!
Of all the men she would have loved to sleep with, she decided to pick the man of God. She deserved what she got.
A lady from Nkrankwanta has found herself disgraced by a pastor when she called and told him that the holy spirit has instructed her to come and sleep with him.Sources close to the pastor revealed that the pastor who is the head pastor of the Temple of Praise Church, found the approach strange and decided to expose this lady so he told her to come.
As the girl arrived in the pastor’s room, the pastor had already alerted some people on what the lady was about to do. The pastor told her to wait for him in the room and he went out to call people to come and see what was going on.

By the time they got to the room, the lady had already undressed waiting for the pastor. The pastor then dragged the lady out and people started taking photos of the undressed lady with their phones.

See The Negative Effect Of President Buhari's Delay In Appointing Cabinet members

As reported by Punch..The delay by President Muhammadu Buhari in appointing ministers and other key officials as well as the lack of clear information about his government’s policy direction have been major deterrents to investment in the nation’s capital market.

Capital market analysts, who spoke to our correspondent on the recent performance of the market stressed that investors, especially foreigners, were unlikely to make significant investment in the market, if any at all until, they had a clear picture of the policy direction of the government.

As of Thursday, three weeks after the inauguration of the President on May 29, the value of equities listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange had declined by N238bn or 2.04 per cent, while the NSE All-Share Index fell by 2.47 per cent or 849.87 basis points.

In 14 trading sessions post-inauguration, the stock market closed on a positive note on only five occasions and with marginal gains.

This, according to analysts, is due to the delay in the formation of the cabinet and lack of vital information about what the economy direction is going to look like, leaving investors uncertain about the what policies the government will implement. The situation is different from what happened immediately after the presidential election.

In the first trading session after the declaration of Buhari as the winner of the election, the value of stocks listed on the NSE rose by a historical 8.4 per cent or N904bn.

Asked if the delay in forming the cabinet and announcing key appointments had affected the performance of the market, a financial analyst at WSTC Financial Services Limited, Mr. Olutola Oni, said it surely had.

He explained that the investment climate had been to a large extent dampened by the fact that the enthusiasm by which people looked forward to the coming of the new government was suppressed by what they had seen the government do since it was inaugurated.

Charley Boy talks about life, regrets and more as he turns 64 today

Let me first start by saying a very happy birthday to Mr Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, one of those rare human beings we see once in a life time. He's a year older today. Wishing him many more beautiful years ahead. In a new interview with journalists, he opened about on his age, family and not living according to norms of society. He said;
“I’m not particular about how old or young the number is. What I care about is the age of my mind and then the age of my body. From my look, my energy and all, I feel 35 or slightly younger. That is the age of my mind. Going by my experiences, my responsibilities, my wisdom and all, I should be about 87 years old,”
ADVERTIS
“I dress the way I feel. My happy moments are when my usefulness is engaged, when I see the influence I bring into people’s lives, when I’m able to add value and make a measurable contribution to individuals and society.
He also says he never sees cherished ones off to the airport..

“I hate to say goodbye. I find it hard to do so. That’s why you may not find me seeing cherished people to the airport unless we are travelling together. Same for my relationships. I love forever.”
On his children,he said
“Unlike some parents who can’t truly love more than a child at a time, I love all my children in different ways and I see a bit of me in all of them, up to my siblings, grandchildren and all. Family is really what I have been blessed with, and my happiest moments have been family times,”
On regrets in life..
“Regrets don’t exist in my dictionary. I live life on the edge and to change it would mean doing things in traditional or conventional ways. To do that, for me, is to give up the ghost. If it’s not daunting and scary, it certainly is not for me.”

Buhari orders the disposal of 9 Presidential aircrafts to cut cost

Buhari orders the disposal of 9 Presidential aircrafts to cut cost

There are reports that President Buhari has directed that nine of the VIP transport aircraft under the presidential fleet should be sold as part of the federal government’s cost measures.

Industry sources said that the presidential fleet, which are registered as Nigerian Air Force aircraft, is one of the largest in Africa and the third largest in Nigeria after Arik Air and Aerocontractors.

According to a report by ThisDay, an aviation source, who is aware of the directive to sell the aircraft, said the presidency has a number of serviceable and unserviceable aircraft that need to be disposed of in order to reduce the amount spent by the federal government for aircraft maintenance annually.
“Nine, which still have market value, are to be sold immediately to reduce maintenance costs,” he said.
For years, the federal government has spent over N12 billion annually for the maintenance of the presidential fleet.

Although information on the exact size of the fleet is treated as classified information, the fleet, according to aviation sources, is believed to comprise about 16 aircraft, chief of which is the Boeing 738 BBJ, NAF 001 or Eagle One, used by the president for his travels.
With its luxury configuration comprising a master bedroom, washrooms and showers, a conference and dinning area, and a living area, the plane seats 25 to 50 passengers and would cost at least $100 million to replace today.
Eagle One can spend 12 hours in the air, covering 11,489 kilomtres or 6,200 nautical miles.
In addition to the Boeing 733 reserved for the president, the fleet boasts two Gulfstream 550 jets. The Gulfstream 550 can seat eight to 18 passengers, depending on the configuration, and has a cruiser range of 12,501 kilometres or 6,750 nautical miles. A new luxury Gulfstream 550 would cost an estimated $53.5 million.

According to Wikipedia, other planes in the Nigerian Air Force VIP transport fleet include two Dassault Falcon 7X jets, one Hawker Siddeley 125-800 and one Cessna 550 Citation II.

Information from a Nigerian web portal and Nigerian Air Force sources further revealed that the fleet also boasts two Dassault Falcon 900 jets, a Gulfstream IVSP, a Gulfstream V, a Dornier Do 228, which can carry 19 passengers, one Beechcraft King Air B200, and three AugustaWestland AW139 helicopters.

Sources said each of the two Dassault Falcon 7X jets were purchased for $51.1 million in 2010 while the Gulfstream 550 cost $53.3 million.
Aviation experts also put the average price of the Falcon 900 at $35 million; Gulfstream IVSP at $40 million; Gulfstream V at $45 million; Cessna Citation at $7 million; and the Hawker Siddeley at $15 million.

It was also discovered that though all the aircraft are under the presidential fleet, about eight of the planes are reserved strictly for the president.

These are the Boeing 737, the two Gulfstream 550 jets, the Gulfstream V jet, two Falcon 7X planes, the Hawker Siddeley aircraft and one AugustaWestland chopper.

Others are reserved for executive airlift. Aircraft used for this function include the two Falcon 900 planes, the Dornier, the Cessna Citation, the Beechracft King Air, and two AugustaWestland choppers.

Aircraft reserved for executive airlift are used by the Vice-President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and could be used to convey African heads of states visiting or departing Nigeria.
