“I cannot fail to acknowledge the very positive role played by my predecessor, President Goodluck Jonathan, in averting the feared crisis, and in facilitating the peaceful transition of power between the two parties."
Buhari reiterated that the process, which was adjudged as the fairest and most credible in the history of elections in Nigeria, was midwifed by the dogged and sustained determination of the Nigerian people, and their desire to deepen democracy. (NAN)

Buhari may appoint Ministers who are not APC members - Oyegun

APC Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun says President Buhari may appoint some individuals who are APC members as Ministers into his government.

Oyegun said  Buhari is keen on appointing technocrats who will work with his agenda of moving Nigeria forward. Oyegun said this while speaking with journalists after a meeting in Abuja today.

"There is absolutely no dispute between the party and the president. We agreed that we shall use all manner of people: politicians, technocrats, all manner of people even if not politicians, who can deliver and who subscribe passionately to the agenda of the president to move this country forward, irrespective of where the people come from; irrespective of whether the person is a card-carrying member of the party. What is important is the qualification of the person and the ability of the person to deliver on the ideas of Mr. President. What we are interested is in the ability of the people to bring up the ideas that will help Mr. President achieve the set objectives and the ability to deliver on what the President wants. Secondly, this is an executive function and the President has the right to consult as widely as possible. This means he might pick people within the party; people outside the party. It is a prerogative the President should exercise and we cannot question that. We are quite happy about the way he is proceeding" he said

Edinburg Police said that they have arrested Cirilo Castillo Jr., 45, who has a history of having sex with animals, after he was found injured in a barn in Edinburg.

Whitney Houston's daughter has been fighting for her life in hospital since January, when she was found unresponsive in her bath.

Her father Bobby Brown and other family members have remained by her bed side, praying for her to recover, but she still remains on life support now in a rehab centre.

An insider told Radar Online: “They are planning to keep her in Georgia and possibly bring her back to the townhouse.

“That was her home and her mum’s home. If they can bring her back it would be great.

“If she’s alive, then let her be home and surrounded by beautiful photos of her mum.

"It’s as good as it gets in such a bad situation.”

However her father Bobby Brown is reportedly against the move, having previously vowed to keep fighting for his daughter.

According to reports, the star has refused to turn his daughter's machine off while there's still hope that she'll pull through.

A Brown family source told People magazine: “Bobby is never going to take her off life support.”
We have contacted Bobbi's reps for comment.

APC Leaders Will Not Allow Buhari To Perform – Jonathan’s Aide

APC Leaders Will Not Allow Buhari To Perform – Jonathan’s Aide

A former Special Adviser on Political Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Prof. Rufai Alkali, on Sunday said it was the All Progressives Congress leaders that would pose problem to the President Muhammadu Buhari’s adminstration.

Alkali, in a statement in Abuja, said the greatest obstacle to Buhari’s administration would be some people who he described as over-ambitious leaders of the ruling APC.

He said, “The greatest obstacle to the Muhammadu Buhari administration is not the Peoples Democratic Party and other political parties, but some of the over-ambitious leaders and members of his party, the APC, who believe they have invested so much in his election and cannot wait a day longer to collect returns from their investments.”

He reiterated that the APC was not properly prepared to govern a complex nation like Nigeria, recalling that he had shortly before the inauguration of the current government called on the leadership of the APC to plan more and talk less.

He said rather than heed his call, he was castigated by the APC spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Alkali said;
“I have observed with keen interest the scenario in the National Assembly that resulted in the election of Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon. Yakubu Dogara and other leaders of the National Assembly.
“What attracted my attention more, though not surprising, were the incoherent and contradictory responses from the leaders of the APC, especially the faction led by the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, who rejected the outcome of the election and without decorum blamed President Muhammadu Buhari as being responsible for the debacle in the National Assembly.
“This is indeed a clear confirmation of my earlier warning to the APC to plan more and talk less.

Tyga is still owing model, Allison Brown $25,000 from sexual assault settlement

Tyga is still owing model, Allison Brown $25,000 from sexual assault settlement

Kylie Jenner's 'boyfriend' was spotted on Friday test driving a bright red Bugatti, a luxury vehicle which can retail in excess of $1.5 million and his photo in the car was posted in the media, which I guess made the woman who sued him for sexual assault in 2011 remind him that he still owed her $25,000.

Model and video vixen Allison Brown sued Tyga over a wild 2011 music video shoot for his single Make It Nasty where she claimed she was plied with alcohol, forced to appear topless on camera, and dry humped by some dude in a rabbit suit. They settled the case out of court and Tyga promised to pay her $50,000.

Allison Brown is now alleging that the 25-year-old has failed to pay the full $50,000 that he owes her.

Brown claims she received half in February, and has now filed documents asking judges to have Tyga pay the other $25,000 in addition to a financial penalty.

Hospital worker takes Snapchat photo of a 'ghost' outside children's ward

A hospital worker says he took this spooky picture of what appears to be a ghostly figure near a children's ward.

Andrew Milburn was texting his girlfriend at Leeds General Infirmary on Friday night just before starting his night shift. To prove he was at work, he sent her a Snapchat image of a corridor on the hospital's Clarendon Wing.

He said:
"Unbeknown at the time it appears that I captured a ghost figure in the corridors.
"I have since put this picture on Facebook, it has received thousands of likes and comments and has been shared as far as America.
"It has also been shared on to paranormal investigator groups, many of which believe the picture is real."

Andrew, who has recently returned to work after a career break, says the room the ghostly figure appears to be walking into is where the switchboard works.
He said a number of colleagues at the hospital have heard footsteps at the spot when no-one is there.
"There have been a few odd things," he said. "Now people are a bit scared, and apprehensive about going to the loo."

He said not everyone believes him though, he said some people think the picture was photoshopped but he said he didn't make it up.

South Africa bans  President of Sudan from leaving the country (Read)

A South African judge yesterday Sunday June 14th barred Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir from leaving the country after the International Criminal Court called for him to be arrested at the AU summit in Johannesburg.
Bashir, who is wanted for alleged war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide in the Darfur conflict, mostly travels to countries that have not joined the ICC, but South Africa is a signatory of the court's statutes.

The ruling was the first time any court has prevented a head of state from leaving a country following a request by the ICC, but Sudanese officials remained defiant, insisting Bashir would return home on schedule.
The Southern African Litigation Centre, a legal rights group, had launched an urgent application in the Pretoria High Court to force authorities to arrest Bashir on the opening day of the African Union summit.
"President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan is prohibited from leaving the Republic of South Africa until the final order is made in this application," Judge Hans Fabricius said in his ruling.
"The respondents are directed to take all necessary steps to prevent him from doing so."

Despite the arrest calls, Bashir joined a group photograph of leaders at the summit.
Wearing a blue suit, he stood in the front row for the photograph along with South African host President Jacob Zuma and Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe, who is the chair of the 54-member group.

"We will leave on time as scheduled," Sudan Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour told reporters. "We are not abiding with any... decision of any court. We are here as guests of the government of South Africa. Assurances have been made by that government."

Ghandour joined other critics of the ICC, saying it was a court that targets African leaders.
"President Bashir is a leading president, a member of the summit of the African Union and will continue attending the summits wherever they are being held inside Africa," he said.
The ICC called on South Africa "to spare no effort in ensuring the execution of the arrest warrants" against Bashir.

It added that South Africa diplomats had been pressed last month to arrest Bashir if he attended the summit, but that they had replied they faced "competing obligations" over the issue.
Bashir, 71, seized power in Sudan in an Islamist-backed coup in 1989.

The ICC indictments relate to the western Sudanese region of Darfur, which erupted into conflict in 2003 when ethnic insurgents launched a campaign against Bashir's Arab-dominated government, complaining of marginalisation.

Khartoum unleashed a bloody counter-insurgency using the armed forces and allied militia.
The United Nations says 300,000 people have been killed in the conflict and another 2.5 million forced to flee their homes.

Khartoum, however, disputes the figures, estimating the death toll at no more than 10,000.
"South Africa has an obligation to arrest him," Johannesburg-based rights lawyer Gabriel Shumba said.
"Failure to do so puts them in the same bracket as other African regimes who have no respect for human rights. It's actually a test for South Africa."

As Judge Fabricius gave his ruling and said the court would meet again on Monday, the summit opened five hours late with Zuma not mentioning the issue in his opening remarks.

"As a member of the International Criminal Court, (South Africa) has committed to cooperate with that court," Elise Keppler of Human Rights Watch told the ENCA news channel.
"This is an incredible moment for South Africa to do the right thing and to render al-Bashir to the International Criminal Court.

"It's quite possible that al-Bashir could in fact be taken into custody before he leaves the country."
The South African government and African Union officials made no comment on the court ruling.
The summit is meeting for two days in the upmarket business and retail district of Sandton under the official theme of the "Year of Women's Empowerment and Development".

Don't bribe anybody to see the President or myself - Aisha Buhari warns Nigerians

Don't bribe anybody to see the President or myself - Aisha Buhari warns Nigerians

Speaking at the 'Thank You' dinner she organized to appreciate APC women at the presidential villa on Saturday June 13th, wife of the President, Aisha Buhari warned Nigerians not to fall into the hands of fraudsters who go about asking for money from Nigerians to arrange a meeting between them and the President or his wife.
"I will like to inform you that in the past regime, whether it is true or false, only God knows, some people were going round and parading themselves as PAs. If you wanted to see the First Lady, you will pay $30,000, $50,000 and if you are seeing the President, you will pay all that you have gathered in your lifetime. This will not happen in our regime. Whoever asks you to give a single penny in the name of coming to see the President or his wife is not our staff. It is a lie, don’t be deceived" she said
Mrs Buhari said a lot of things were said against former president Goodluck Jonathan's administration but that it is not like the former president is a bad man, it was the people around him that gave him a bad representation.
"There was nothing that people did not say about the past administration. It is not Jonathan that is not good, but the people around him. So, the people that are going to be around General Buhari have to be very careful because this election ended peacefully. We are praying and hoping that people around him should know that it took him 12 years to get to that position and they must know that they are coming to serve the masses, not General Buhari in person. It is the people that are around him that will determine the political health of our state"she said
