2015: HERE I COME

2015:WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS IN THE COMING YEAR?

In less than 24-hours, Nigeria will be ushered into the new year. Companies and organizations, even individuals have taken stock of how far they've fared over the outgoing year.

Without mincing words, you might have done pretty well or probably below your expectations but the truth of the matter is that you must have moved a step further in life. Many today still build their success story on physical achievements which is immaterial in the real sense of it.

A friend of mine has built estates in the southeastern part of the country with five different companies which make a daily turnover of #1m but the people around him are in penury. What a life!

You might have witnessed your friends celebrate weddings, naming ceremonies, house warming, new jobs or businesses, etc but on your part, nothing. Relax! you'll also have reason(s) to be celebrated.

Bear this in mind that your success story will not be complete without acknowledging the giver of life- God Himself.

Have you been able to check where you made some wrongs and strategize towards rewriting it?
Did you blame anyone for your misfortune?
Are you willing to face the GIANTS in the coming year?

What then are your expectations in 2015? Wouldn't you like to be a hero in your time as Hercules was in his?
See what the year 2015 has in store for you and maximize it! Relinquish laziness to oblivion, work harder, sleep less, think much and depend solely on God for a breakthrough as we embark on the Journey To The Unequivocal 2015.

WHEN YOUR WIFE NO LONGER RESPECTS YOU.

…WHEN YOUR WIFE NO LONGER RESPECTS YOU.

Domestic violence
The issue of finding a wife is herculean to some persons, but to others, it is as simple as A, B, C. Come to think of it, is every woman a wife material? (I leave that to your judgment)

If I ask you what your wife is to you, I will be inundated by your responses, but, let’s put it this way; where and how did you meet your wife – school, church, party, during National Youth Service or where? What bait did you use for her? Hmm! I salute your courage.

My friend was in a relationship with his girlfriend, Ada, when he was in his mid twenties, and in his late twenties, the relationship culminated in their wedlock. The marriage is blessed with two kids.
Before the second child was born, Eze lost his job, but was still courageous that all was not lost. The truth of the false allegation made against him was later discovered.

On recalled, he turned it down, just to maintain his integrity. For close to three years, he was out of job, but was still able to provide for the family by doing menial jobs.

Each time he returned from work, he was always exasperated, and one would expect Ada to have prepared his meals and made water ready for his bath, rather, he would do it by himself.

Ada would not even allow her husband to touch her let alone make love with her. Was this just because the young man was out of job?

Ada stopped preparing meals for her husband, and at a point, my friend summoned courage to ask the wife what the problem was, but she would decline. Eze lost respect in the eyes of his wife, and this was also transferred to his mother as Ada had a feud with her mother-in-law.

Was she really meant for him or circumstances rolled this in? Was she suspecting infidelity on the part of her husband? Well…
If you were Eze, what would you do?

SALVAGING OUR NASCENT DEMOCRACY

SALVAGING OUR NASCENT DEMOCRACY

National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

In the world today, the democratic system of governance is accepted by all and sundry, of which governments of nations have entrenched it in their political systems. Some weeks back, the military took over power in Burkinafaso, which was globally condemned, with a view to returning the democratic system of governance to civilian rule.

Our democracy which came to stay in 1999 is being threatened by unscrupulous and disgruntled elements in the polity. The show of shame within the precincts of the National Assembly complex on Thursday, November 20, 2014, by the men of the Nigeria Police Force and the legislators, is an indication of the fact that we lack respect for the rule of law.

Firstly, the Police stormed the complex of the National Assembly following reports that some thugs were coming to disrupt the session that morning. If that was true, why was the Speaker of the House of Representatives denied access into the complex even when he identified himself as the Honourable Speaker?
Why didn’t the police officers order the other legislators to identify themselves one after the other and not shut the entrance into the complex? Was it a set-up from the Presidency?

Similarly, why were the so-called Honourables not honourable enough to remain calm but resorted to scaling the gate leading to the National Assembly complex? Probably they thought an impeachment process would be carried out against Tambuwal. This is a national disgrace!

The lawmakers who signed for the impeachment of President Goodluck Jonathan are simply being blinded by sentiments. On what ground is the President going to be impeached? Was he the one who ordered the police to storm the National Assembly complex?

Why do people think that the Presidency initiated the action of the Police Force following Tambuwal’s defection from the PDP to the APC? This notion lacks moral justification.

According to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) the President can only be impeached on the ground of gross misconduct, that is, a violation of the provisions of the constitution. Where has he violated the constitution? Why then is the call for impeachment? This is indeed an abuse of office.

Regarding the Ekiti State House of Assembly, of which 7 PDP members out of the 26 members of the State House of Assembly initiated the impeachment of the Honourable Speaker, Dr Adewale Omirin, depicts the myopic thinking faculty of our lawmakers. Those lawmakers should be prosecuted as their action is unconstitutional.

We must all condemn these acts that constitute threat to our developing democracy and save the future of our great nation.
