AHEAD OF PDP PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN RALLY IN AKURE

 

 AFENIFERE ENDORSES JONATHAN'S RE-ELECTION

The pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere has endorsed the candidacy of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for next month's Presidential Election.

Afenifere leaders: Chiefs Arogbofa, Falae, Adebanjo and OGD during the meeting with Jonathan.

This was made known when President Jonathan visited the residence of the group's leader Chief Reuben Fasaranti in Akure, Ondo State ahead of the Presidential campaign rally in Akure on Wednesday, 28th January, 2015.

 After the meeting, the spokesman for the group, Yinka Odumakin, told reporters that “Afenifere supports the President’s reelection because he had the courage to convoke the national conference and we hope that he will implement the report."

He also said “The President expressed the commitment that he will adopt the report within 12 months of returning to office.”

Governor Olusegun Mimiko, who spoke after the meeting, said “This is the first time Afenifere will be endorsing any President.” He added that Afenifere remained a credible and dependable socio-political group in the south west.
